Girl Scouts’ March 6th Toy Drive to Benefit Nationwide Children’s Hospital

On Saturday, March 6, the Juniors of Girl Scout Troop 2462 will be accepting donations of new unwrapped toys from 10 am – 12 pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1555 South James Road, Columbus Ohio 43227.

The collection is part of the troop’s “Teddy Works” Bronze Award Project.

“A Bronze Award is the highest award a Girl Scout Junior can get,” explained troop member Angelica Wyckoff, a fifth-grader at Harmon Middle School. “It is where Juniors try to make a difference in the community where they live.”

Juniors are Girl Scouts in fourth and fifth grade.

“The Teddy Works Project is a toy donation for Nationwide Children’s Hospital,” said Aundrea McKay, who attends Whitehall Preparatory and Fitness Academy. “We are collecting for preschool-aged patients at the hospital.”

The girls just wanted to “give sick children toys to make them smile,” Zariah Crockett of Beechwood Elementary said.

For those who cannot drop off toys but still want to help, donations may be made via Amazon Wishlist https://www.amazon.com/…/ls/1U0CKZM9EFOPB/ref=cm_go_nav_hz

Also participating in the project are: Atana Sims of A+ Arts Academy, J’nya Rubin of Eastland Performance Academy, and Kaleece Robinson of Leawood Elementary.
