Community Listening Sessions Added for June 30 & July 1

Pickerington, OH – Pickerington Local Schools has added three Community Listening Sessions to provide additional opportunities for staff, residents, and community members to engage in discussions about the District’s long-term financial outlook and future funding needs. Community feedback will help inform the Board of Education as it evaluates long-term funding options, including a possible levy request this November.

Wednesday, July 1, 2026
4:00 p.m.
7:00 p.m. 

The Listening Sessions will take place at Lakeview Junior High School, 12445 Ault Road.

Discussion topics will include:

  • The District’s long-term financial outlook and funding needs
  • Community priorities
  • Communication, transparency, and community engagement
  • Community perspectives to help inform future funding decisions
  • Questions, ideas, and potential solutions

CAN’T ATTEND? The District is also providing additional opportunities for families, staff, and residents to share ideas, ask questions, and provide constructive feedback using the following Google Form https://forms.gle/bLdbxd3YQVCRAbky9 as the Board continues discussions regarding the District’s financial future. The deadline for submissions is July 5, 2026.

MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES:

Reporters will have the opportunity to observe the listening session and interview Superintendent Dr. Charles Smialek following the event, as schedules permit.
