Are you caring for a loved one and are confused, overwhelmed, and uncertain about how to navigate the obstacles and get the answers you need, or are you just plain burned out?

Are you looking to downsize your living environment but are impeded by the sheer volume of “stuff” standing in the way? And do you need to find advice and free services to live your best life and bring peace of mind to yourself and your family?

The Pickerington Area Chamber’s first Downsizing & Senior Care Expo, presented by OhioHealth and Dwayne R. Spence Advanced Planning is Saturday, March 23, and is free for you to attend. Held at Violet Township’s Wigwam Event Center, the Expo features 40+ vendors that serve the senior and caregiver population.

The first 100 attendees will receive a free sack lunch, courtesy of The Senior Hub: Meals on Wheels.

This interactive and dynamic event will include screenings (including hearing and BP), demos (including cardio drumming and a chair volleyball competition between the Pickerington Senior Center and Redbud Commons), assistance (including individual consultations with the Alzheimer’s Association), and a Caregiver Corner with free massages. The exhibit hall is open 10 am-3 pm.

In the nearby theater, sponsored by Right at Home, the event will feature 10 different educational/informative sessions from helpful experts every 30 minutes. It will end with a panel of experts on senior care and services with an opportunity for Q&A. Info sessions will run from 10:30 am-3:45 pm. (Schedule of presentations below.)

There will be free valet parking onsite. And Lancaster-Fairfield Public Transit is graciously offering free Demand Response transportation exclusively for this event. Call (614) 681-5086 between March 9 and March 23 and let the scheduler know you need a ride to the Pickerington Downsizing & Senior Care Expo.

A transit shuttle will also run a loop with numerous pick up and drop off locations throughout Pickerington. A listing of the shuttle stops will be available on the Expo’s website soon.
