Pickerington Police Reports July 6 – July 12, 2026

July 6

12:14 a.m. Security officers in the emergency department at OhioHealth Pickerington Methodist Hospital told a 41-year-old Columbus man that he could not drink alcohol in the lobby. Staff escorted the man from the premises and contacted Pickerington Police after he reportedly began walking into traffic. Officers arrested the man on an outstanding Franklin County warrant. He told police he had been waiting in the lobby while his wife received treatment.

July 7

10:59 a.m. A 38-year-old Pickerington woman reported that her concealed handgun license was missing. She told officers she needed a police report to obtain a replacement.

July 8

11:30 a.m. A 54-year-old Pickerington man reported that his bank detected fraudulent activity on his account.

12:42 p.m. Pickerington Police officers joined Fairfield County deputies and other members of the Fairfield County SWAT Team to apprehend a suspected sexual predator at Brooks Park in Millersport.

According to the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, detectives conducting an undercover investigation posed online as an underage female. After the conversation allegedly became sexual in nature, Patrick N. Smith, 53, of Reynoldsburg, arranged to meet the person he believed to be a juvenile at the park for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity. No actual juvenile was involved.

Detectives, assisted by the Patrol Bureau, SWAT Team and Major Crimes Unit, arrested Smith without incident after he arrived at the predetermined meeting location. He was booked into the Fairfield County Jail for fourth-degree felony importuning.

The Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains ongoing. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

7:29 p.m. A concrete truck struck a vehicle on Windmiller Drive near Diley Road and left the scene.

7:54 p.m. Emergency crews responded to Taco Bell on a report of an unconscious patron. Paramedics administered Narcan before transporting a 34-year-old Xenia man to OhioHealth Pickerington Methodist Hospital.

July 9

12:54 p.m. A 69-year-old Pickerington woman reported losing $5,000 in a gift card scam.

The woman told officers she received a call from someone identifying herself as “Ashley Jommes” with the Federal Trade Commission, who claimed the woman’s identity had been used to rent a vehicle in which drugs were found. The caller said a purported DEA officer named “Frank Arentino” could clear her name.

The woman then contacted “Frank,” who instructed her to withdraw all but $1,000 from her bank account and purchase Nordstrom and Xbox gift cards. She complied and texted photographs of the gift cards to the suspect.

After discussing the situation with friends, the woman realized she had been scammed. By that time, the suspect had already redeemed approximately $3,000 of the $5,000 in gift cards.

July 10

11:05 a.m. A 33-year-old Pataskala woman and a 40-year-old Reynoldsburg woman are suspected of stealing narcotics from their place of employment in the 1300 block of Hill Road.

July 11

3:15 a.m. Madison Township Police arrested an intoxicated man who was walking along Long Road near Preserve Drive after leaving his badly damaged vehicle.

July 12

11:02 a.m. A resident reported a theft from a home in the Colony Park neighborhood.
