Pickerington Police

April 23

2:34 p.m. A 44-year-old Pickerington woman tossed her 4-year-old daughter to safety but suffered a possibly broken leg after she was allegedly hit by a golf cart at the PYAA fields. Witnesses reported a 15-year-old boy was the driver.

April 25

10:10 a.m. A Dodge Charger and a Chevy Tahoe caught fire in the driveway of a home on Knights Bridge Drive.

10:47 a.m. Someone allegedly broke into a locked Kia parked on Knights Bridge Drive and peeled back the steering column.

8:21 p.m. Unknown perpetrators allegedly broke into two vehicles at Cracker Barrel and stole a wallet and two laptops.

12:11 p.m. An 83-year old Pickerington man reported that an $18 check that he mailed from the blue Post Office box near Bob Evans had been stolen, washed, rewritten and cashed. The name had been rewritten to read “Dasith D. Chimon” and in the memo section someone had written “Buying New Car”. The check had been cashed for $5,000 which was the amount that had been spelled out, however the number in the box was written “$15,000”.

4:06 p.m. A 34-year-old Columbus man had allegedly drank too much at the Marcus Theatre then passed out behind the wheel of his running vehicle in the parking lot.

6:14 p.m. A seven-year-old Groveport boy allegedly broke a window of a home on Columbia Drive.

April 26

 

 

10:44 a.m. A 51-year-old Columbus woman who was a “known shoplifter” was arrested for allegedly stealing from Kohl’s.

11:24 a.m. Two vape pends were allegedly confiscated from a boy at Ridgeview Junior High.

April 27

8:50 a.m. A dog bit a 52-year-old Pickerington man who was walking with his wife along Raab Street.

5:26 p.m. Two men in hoods allegedly grabbed fragrances at Ulta Beauty then ran out the door. They were followed by two women in face masks who filled garbage bags with perfume then ran.

April 28

10:54 a.m. A woman reported that her 14-year-old son had been hit by a teacher at Ridgeview Junior High.

April 29

3:05 a.m. A 29-year-old Groveport man was pulled over after an officer allegedly witnessed him weaving between lanes then hitting the curb near Hunters Run Plaza. The man said that he had one Corona at Twins Tavern. He blew a .240 bac which was three times the legal limit.

11:13 a.m. Whitehall Police arrested a 36-year-old Columbus man who allegedly stole a Pickerington woman’s car and phone then threatened to kill her family if she went to the police.

3:30 p.m. Someone allegedly stole the catalytic converter from a Hyundai Santa Fe parked at Cracker Barrel.

10:27 p.m. A 17-year-old Pickerington boy was pulled after he allegedly took the turn from State Route 204 onto southbound Hill Road at too high of speed and damaged the Jaguar that he was driving by hitting the curb. He had no license but his prom date, a 17-year-old Pickerington girl had a learner’s permit. She told police that her dad had given them permission to use his friend’s car. Although the vehicle had a dealer plate, the registration had lapsed in 2021.

April 30

2:01 a.m. A 44-year-old Pickerington man allegedly refused to exit his vehicle after police witnessed him weaving between lanes and texting while driving south on Hill Road Stonecreek Drive North. After being pulled over, the man refused to exit his vehicle. Officers physically removed him from his car then drove him to the Police Station where he blew a 0.141 bac. The legal limit to drive in Ohio is below 0.06 bac.

2:11 a.m. A 41-year-old Pickerington man allegedly driving at a high rate of speed almost crashed into a police cruiser on Brighton Street. The officer followed the man to his house and approached the vehicle. After the man exited his truck followed by a pit bull that lunged at the officer. The officer told the man to secure the dog inside his home then return to discuss the almost traffic accident.

However, the suspect followed the dog inside the home and refused to come back outside. The officer called for back up and then used the PA system in the cruiser to call again for the man to come outside. At which time the man appeared at the front door naked then slammed it shut.

12:23 p.m. A stolen vehicle belonging to a Utica woman was recovered at the corner of Balderson and Sterndale Drives.

6:06 p.m. A 29-year-old Gahanna man and a 28-year-old Columbus woman were trespassing in the area of the Coyote Run State Nature Preserve (known to some as “Kansas”) near the railroad tracks.

10:23 p.m. A 29-year-old Columbus man was pulled over at the Violet Township Dog Park for traveling outside of the northbound lane of Center Street. He refused the breath test and urine tests.

May 1

8:23 p.m. A Violet Township man called police to report a vehicle swerving as it drove southbound on Hill Road from Reynoldsburg. He followed the vehicle after it narrowly avoided several collisions. He rolled down his window at one point to yell at the driver, a 24-year-old Columbus woman, after she appeared to pass out at a traffic light. The driver parked at a home on Starr Court then appeared to have passed out again. When officers arrived, she was awake. They took her back to the police station where she blew a .219 bac.

10:06 p.m. A taxi driver called police because he had driven a 91-year-old Canal Winchester woman to the bank on consecutive days and each day she was unable to pay him because the bank was closed. Officer’s contacted the woman’s granddaughter who told the police her grandmother was the victim of a scam. The grandmother told the officers that her “boss” needed her to keep making the “transactions”. The granddaughter arranged to pay the taxi driver.

May 2

12:34 a.m. A 20-year-old Pickerington man who had a no trespassing order filed against him by Speedway was allegedly trespassing at Speedway. The officer made him return the can of beer he had stashed in his pocket.

11:25 p.m. An 82-year-old resident of the Embassy of Pickerington told police that she had been struck by a 59-year-old employee.

May 3

7:13 p.m. Police pulled over a 45-year-old Pickerington man after the driver made a sudden sharp right turn onto Harmon Road from Refugee Road when a cruiser was traveling behind him. The man was wanted on a felony warrant by the U.S. Marshals Service.

8:37 p.m. A 37-year-old Pickerington man told police he had been scammed out of $800.00 by buying fake eBay gift cards.

9:17 p.m. A 32-year-old Reynoldsburg woman allegedly was pulled over for making a U-Turn on Hill Road near Popeyes. Her license had already been suspended, so officers asked her to contact a licensed driver to pick up her and her child.

May 4

8:46 a.m. A woman reported that her wallet had been stolen from her vehicle while she was dropping her child at KinderCare. Four minutes later someone attempted to use one of the credit cards at Kroger.

9:30 a.m. A 33-year-old Pickerington woman allegedly stole groceries from Giant Eagle.

10:48 p.m. The manager at Twins Tavern asked police to help remove a 37-year-old Columbus man who allegedly had become belligerent. When the police arrived the man did leave the bar, but he refused to tell the officers the names of anyone who could give him a ride home. When an officer offered to drive him home instead, the man refused to provide his address because he “didn’t like” the officer. The man then turned to urinate on the store front.

May 5

2:15 a.m. A 22-year-old Blacklick man was pulled over for running the traffic light on Hill Road where it crosses Refugee Road. He was also charged with smoking marijuana.

1:42 p.m. Six women allegedly attempted to steal alcohol from the liquor store within Kroger on Hill Road by concealing it within their clothes and bags. Three handed over the bottles to store employees without incident. The others returned the liquor only after the manager told them that cameras recorded where each bottle had been stashed. Police arrested one of the women, a 26-year-old from Columbus on an outstanding warrant from Pataskala.

2:10 p.m. A bus driver reported that a 13-year-old student allegedly assaulted him when he picked up the students from Ridgeview Junior High.

3:08 p.m. A 15-year-old Pickerington boy who had been issued a no-trespass order from Circle K, allegedly trespassed at Circle K.

May 6

3:27 a.m. A 21-year-old Columbus man was pulled over near Epiphany Church after allegedly running three traffic lights and driving 90 mph in a 45-mph zone of Hill Road. He refused to take a field sobriety test or give a urine sample (he had admitted to smoking marijuana) but he did vomit in the police station’s water fountain.

6:53 p.m. A Pickerington man reported that a 38-year-old Columbus man out on bail had allegedly been contacting the Pickerington man’s 17-year-old daughter and was now texting naked photos of the girl to the girl’s mother.

May 8

8:37 p.m. A wallet was stolen at Planet Fitness.

May 9

2:49 a.m. A 23-year-old Canal Winchester man was pulled over near Tussing Road and Winderly Lane for driving without proper lights and driving with a suspended license.

6:51 p.m. A 66-year-old Columbus man was pulled over at the corner of North East Street and Corday Boulevard for allegedly driving with a suspended license.

7:07 p.m. Officers were called to break up a fight at the PYAA complex between five adults which allegedly broke out when a 33-year-old Columbus man brought his pregnant girlfriend with him to watch his son’s T-ball game. The boy’s mother, a 29-year-old Canal Winchester woman, and her friend, a 29-year-old Columbus woman, were upset that the couple came to the game and started after the pregnant girlfriend.

May 10

8:21 p.m. A 27-year-old Columbus woman was pulled over near the corner of Refugee Road and Stonecreek Drive South for allegedly driving with a suspended license and having no insurance.

May 11

11:22 a.m. Someone allegedly stole car keys and sunglasses from a patron of Next Level Fitness.

3:06 p.m. A 27-year-old Pickerington man and a 25-year-old Columbus woman allegedly were trespassing in the Coyote Run Nature Preserve in the area known as “Kansas”.

May 12

12:42 a.m. Twins Tavern requested police escort a 32-year-old Blacklick woman from the bar after she allegedly refused to leave. She was transported to Ohio Health Pickerington for possible alcohol poisoning.

4: 23 p.m. A 27-year-old Thornville man was issued a no trespass order from Power Shack Fitness for allegedly yelling, cursing and walking around barefoot in the gym.

May 13

1:17 a.m. A 43-year-old Columbus man was pulled over for allegedly weaving between lanes. He did not have a valid driver’s license and he blew a 0.128 bac.

2:18 a.m. An officer pulled over a 37-year-old Reynoldsburg man near Kentucky Fried Chicken after observing the driver weave into oncoming traffic on northbound Hill Road. The man refused a breath test. Pickerington Police transferred him to the Fairfield County jail as he had three prior convictions for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. At the jail, he fought and injured officers.

10:33 a.m. A 13-year-old Columbus boy allegedly assaulted a 14-year-old Columbus girl at a track meet at Ridgeview Junior High.

3:50 p.m. A 67-year-old man allegedly attempted to drive his motorized wheelchair down State Route 204  to his home at Echo Manner after drinking at El Vaquero.
