For her Eagle Scout project, Anna Gasser of Pickerington Troop 7256 wanted to support the Bill & Joyce Hague Foundation’s efforts to remove invasive vegetation and plant native shrubs and trees.

On February 3, she led a group of more than 20 volunteers to the Hague Nature Preserve on Hill Road. The group removed a variety of harmful plants including honeysuckle, multifloral rose, and garlic mustard.

Clearing invasives is only part of Gasser’s project. She is also raising funds with which the Hague Foundation will purchase native trees to plant. For more information on the fundraiser or to donate click here.

If you would like to help with invasive removal and native tree planting in our community, please follow Coyote Run and Greener Violet on Facebook.

You may also join the Pickerington Earth Day Cleanup on April 20. It will also include litter pick-up, educational opportunities, and giveaways. There will also be fun activities for the whole family, live music and food trucks at Combustion Brewery & Taproom.
