Pickerington High School Central Theatre is proud to present Puffs, a hilarious and heartwarming play that follows the misadventures of a group of loyal but unlucky students at a certain school of magic and magic.

The play, written by Matt Cox, is a parody of the Harry Potter series, but from the perspective of the Hufflepuffs, or as they are called in the play, the “Puffs”.

The play is the first Central production for director, Andrew Martin who took over after Aileen Targett took a position in Gahanna.

Martin has been teaching in other districts for the past eight years and is excited to work in the same city that he calls home.

He became a theater teacher because he enjoys creating a community for creative young artists where they can feel comfortable expressing themselves. Such as the talented and dedicated cast crew who have been working hard to present this weekend’s performance.

Martin chose Puffs as the fall play because of its funny and magical and has a heart-warming message of amity and self-acceptance.

“On their journey, the Puffs learn the value of friendship, the power of love and the importance of embracing who you are,” Martin said.

“Puffs” will be performed on November 9, 10, and 11 at 7:00 p.m. at the Pickerington Central Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at the Pickerington Central Box Office or at the door.

As the play’s tagline says, “Some people are born to do great things. Some people change the world. Some people rise from humble beginnings to beat back the forces of darkness in the face of insurmountable odds. Puffs is the story of the people who sit next to those people in class.”
