Pickerington Memorial Day Service 2022

Members of the American Legion Post 283’s Honor Guard perform a rifle salute for fallen military men and women during the Pickerington Memorial Day service at Victory Park. The Memorial Day events began at Violet Cemetery with local BSA Scouts and Cub Scouts assisting the Legion with a flag ceremony before an audience of community members. The group then marched to Victory Park escorted by members of the Pickerington Police and the Violet Township Fire Department. At Victory Park, Mayor Lee Gray spoke in appreciation of all service men and women.

Post 283 Commander Paul Schorr and Honor Guard Commander Dave England watch as Nancy Curran and Sandy Griffith of the Post Auxiliary place a wreath in Violet Cemetery.
The Auxiliary collected donations throughout May to recreate Flanders Field in pinwheels behind the Post’s shelter house (7725 Refugee Road).
