COVID-19 Vaccine Available for Kids 5-11

November 5, 2021

On November 2, 2021, CDC advisers endorsed Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for children ages five through eleven. The Fairfield County Health Department (FCHD) has begun vaccinating children in this age group. Appointments are available by calling 740-652-2800. Please make sure to bring your insurance card and a photo ID to your appointment.

Nationwide Children’s Hospital is also offering the vaccine free for this age group. Due to the high demand, the appointments fill up quickly but additional appointments are regularly added. To make an appointment, please click on the link here.

Pediatric Associates in Pickerington and Canal Winchester does not yet have the vaccine. However, if you contact your child’s pediatrician, the doctor will add your child to a list to receive the shots once they become available. The phone number for the Pickerington office is (614) 864-3222 and the phone number for the Canal office is (614) 837-7337.

The Pickerington Walgreens and CVS do not yet offer the 5-11 vaccines, but nearby stores in both chains do if you make appointments. Neither of Pickerington’s Kroger locations have the child vaccine, nor does the Pickerington Giant Eagle nor the Canal Winchester Meijer.

FCHD continues to have adult vaccine available for boosters or as part of the regular series. Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson are in stock. Please call 740-652-2800 to schedule your appointment.

The Pickerington Public Library offers free COVID-19 Rapid Response Tests.
