Pickerington Police

October 16

1:30 am While on patrol, an officer noticed an 18-year-old Reynoldsburg man outside the closed Power Shack Fitness sitting in a vehicle with a fictitious plate. The man claimed to have just left the movies and was tired, so he found a place to nap. The officer allegedly saw the man move his hand toward a loaded 9mm Glock magazine located in the pocket of the door.

The officer asked the man if there were any firearms in the vehicle to which the man initially replied “no”.  The officer told him that he could see the magazine. The man said that he knew by law he must tell if a gun was in the car, but he insisted the answer was still “no”. He permitted the officer to search the vehicle.

After patting the man down and calling for backup, the officer began searching the car and found a Glock speed loader and a single 9mm bullet in the center console. On the passenger’s seat the officer found a black mask with blue X’s which the man said was for Halloween.

Behind the front seat under a black shirt the officer allegedly found a fully loaded, 10-round Glock pistol within arms reach of the driver’s seat. The suspect was handcuffed and read his rights.

In the trunk of the car, officers allegedly discovered three empty 9mm magazines, a concealed carry holster, a pair of gloves, two gold chains and one jewelry tester.
