March 30

12:12 p.m. Police cited an 18-year-old Columbus woman for not maintaining a clear distance and driving without a license after rear-ending another vehicle at the intersection of Tussing and Hill Roads.

5:29 p.m. Someone intercepted a check written for $300 from the Pickerington High School Central Band Boosters. It had been altered and deposited for $3,000.

March 31

10:58 a.m. A 16-year-old boy stole a bicycle from Diley Middle School and rode it to Victory Park. Officers returned the bike to the victim and released the suspect to a parent.

April 1

10:42 p.m. Police arrested a 59-year-old Reynoldsburg man for driving under the influence of alcohol after he drove off the road and hit a sign.

April 2

2:04 p.m. After a Ford Edge ran the red light at Diley Road and Columbus Street and struck a Mitsubishi Eclipse, the Ford driver, a 41-year-old Columbus man, allegedly took off on foot down Diley Road. Police caught up with him and had him transported to the hospital. He said he ran because he was scared.

4:38 p.m. After allegedly arguing with an employee of Speedway, a 24-year-old Mansfield woman fled the scene with the gas pump still attached to her vehicle.

8:18 p.m. A resident reported that after she left her purse in a Lyft, someone took $1,000 from her account.

April 3

8:49 a.m. An officer arrested a 32-year-old woman whom he found in the middle of Diley Road doing jumping jacks.

4:31 p.m. Police issued a “No Trespass” order to a 48-year-old man who jumped over the counter in a business in the 500 block of Hill Road.

6:15 p.m. In the Sycamore Creek neighborhood, a 24-year-old woman was bitten by a family dog.

7:53 p.m. A woman known to DoorDash attempted to take an order from the Wendy’s by the interstate. When confronted by employees, she reportedly threw the food onto the ground.

9:51 p.m. When her car quit, a 34-year-old woman left it on Diley Road and walked home. She was advised to contact the non-emergency number and stay with the vehicle if it happened again.

April 4

2:21 p.m. Two 12-year-old boys and one 13-year-old boy, all of Pickerington, were issued “No Trespass” orders for Kroger on Hill Road after riding business-owned handicap scooters through the store and screaming at employees. They were released to their guardian.

April 5

3:14 a.m. After witnessing a Volkswagen Beetle make several marked lane violations, an officer conducted a traffic stop. The driver, a 71-year-old Reynoldsburg man, kept repeating that he was just “trying to get home,” but after a field sobriety test, he was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. At the police station, he blew a .147 BAC. The legal limit in Ohio is .08.

9:16 p.m. A 29-year-old Pickerington man was arrested for driving while under the influence, expired registration, and failure to keep a safe distance after rear-ending a vehicle that was stopped at a red light.
