Pickerington resident and local business owner, Jean Parker, has joined the Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools Board of Education as its ninth board member.

Parker, a longtime supporter and contributor to education circles, was sworn in as the newest member of the Eastland-Fairfield Board on Wednesday, January 10. She represents the Educational Service Center of Fairfield County, where she also serves as a board member. Parker fills the seat vacated by outgoing Board member, Chris Lopez, whose term expired and whose seat alternates representation between the ESC of Central Ohio and the ESC of Fairfield County.

“As a parent and advocate for the power of public education, I am deeply invested in helping all our kids grow to their full potential,” said Parker. “And as a lifelong Ohioan and business owner, I know we need to prepare young people to enter the workforce and find great opportunities right here. Eastland-Fairfield’s mission is tightly aligned with my values and experience, and I’m happy to serve that mission in this way.”

Currently, Parker is the owner of Linden Tree Curriculum Design which designs corporate training modules developed to improve organizational performance. The focus of her business lends itself to the retail, healthcare, and financial service industries. She began Linden Tree in 2011, the same year she began teaching as an adjunct professor of interdisciplinary studies at Franklin University.

In 2015, Parker took a position with Mindset Digital as its director of learning solutions where she was tasked with developing a curriculum to improve organizational health, all while continuing to teach and operate her own business. In 2020, she shifted her focus to solely operating Linden Tree.

Jean Parkerwas sworn in as the newest member of the Eastland-Fairfield Board on January 10.

The time Parker spent in the financial sector helped fuel her recent projects. For four years, she served as the vice president for curriculum design management at Huntington National Bank, and before that, she held a similar role at National City Bank (now known as PNC Bank).

Parkers holds a bachelor’s of arts degree in psychology from Miami University and a master’s of business administration from Xavier University’s Williams College of Business. She also serves as the service unit manager program lead with the Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland and has also donated time as a volunteer at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
