May 4

12:19 a.m. A 30-year-old Blacklick man was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and marked lanes violations after an officer witnessed multiple lane violations and nearly striking a guardrail. He was transported to the station for processing and later released to a sober party.

8:32 a.m. Officers responded to a report that a vehicle was doing doughnuts in the lower portion of Sycamore Creek Park, damaging a field.

5:59 p.m. Ulta Beauty reported that multiple suspects entered the store on May 1 and stole more than $9,000 worth of merchandise.

May 5

4:28 a.m. Unknown suspects broke into multiple vehicles parked in the Shadow Oaks neighborhood.

6:22 a.m. A resident in the Stonebridge neighborhood reported that his vehicle window had been smashed and items stolen overnight. After an area check, officers discovered additional vehicles had also been targeted.

9:26 a.m. Police issued a “No Trespass” order to a 54-year-old man on behalf of Valvoline Instant Oil Change. Employees accused the man of being regularly abusive and said they were done serving him. The man claimed he was denied a price breakdown before work was performed on his vehicle and that the manager had his “panties in a bunch.”

May 6

6:17 a.m. Staff at Speedway asked police to issue a “No Trespass” order to a 31-year-old Newark woman who refused to leave the store because employees were unable to print her receipt.

6:40 p.m. HomeBuys asked police to issue a “No Trespass” order to a 51-year-old Groveport man who refused to leave the store. The man told police he entered the store hoping for a voucher to purchase clothing, but staff denied him a voucher and took slices of his pizza.

May 7

1:22 a.m. While on routine patrol, officers observed a vehicle traveling 84 mph in a 45-mph zone on Hill Road. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled at a higher rate of speed toward Columbus.

6:44 a.m. Police cited a 46-year-old Reynoldsburg man for a marked lanes violation and driving on a temporary permit following a non-injury accident.

12:26 p.m. An employee at Raising Cane’s reported sending $2,000 via Western Union to someone claiming to be an administrator with the restaurant. They discovered later that it was a scam.

4:04 p.m. After waiting 10 seconds behind a Mercedes-Benz in the Sycamore Creek Elementary pickup line, a 35-year-old Canal Winchester man decided the vehicle must be parked. As he began to pass, the Mercedes started moving and struck his Chevrolet Tahoe.

He reportedly began yelling profanities at the 50-year-old Pickerington driver, calling her a  “stupid f_____g bitch.” Feeling threatened, she dialed 911 while her son called his father. The woman’s 41-year-old husband arrived before officers and allegedly told the Tahoe driver, “I will put the beats on your ass!”

The Tahoe driver, who was driving on an expired license, was found at fault. The Mercedes driver was driving with a suspended license. The Tahoe driver requested that the husband be charged with menacing. No injuries were reported.

5:24 p.m. An officer was dispatched on a report of a non-injury accident in which a white van turned left in front of another vehicle on Diley Road, was struck, and then fled the scene.

7:20 p.m. Officers were dispatched to a home in Simsbury after a boxer dog escaped its home and grabbed a Pomeranian that was out on a walk. The smaller dog’s owner pulled his pet from the boxer’s mouth and was subsequently injured as well.

May 8

5:35 a.m. An officer was dispatched on a report of a deer being struck by a vehicle. The officer removed the injured deer from the roadway and humanely dispatched it.

9:17 a.m. While on patrol, an officer came upon a Toyota Prius parked behind Kohl’s with two teenage boys sleeping inside — a 17-year-old from Piqua and a 16-year-old from Violet Township. When asked why they were sleeping there, one of the boys answered that they were in a “weird situation.”

When asked whether there were any guns or drugs in the car, the teens said “no,” however the officer spotted a used bong on the backseat. After asking the boys to step out of the car, officers found a baggie of marijuana and five guns. The guns were all BB and soft-pellet guns, but 9 mm rounds were also found. A Glock 19 BB handgun had been fitted with an extended magazine loaded with live ammunition. The boys were released to a parent.

4:29 p.m. A mother told police that an 18-year-old student bit her 16-year-old daughter on the shoulder before class that morning at Pickerington High School Central. The teen allegedly threatened to further harm the girl.

May 9

6:29 p.m. A local pharmacist reported receiving a phoned-in prescription on April 24 from an out-of-state doctor that was later deemed fraudulent.

11:31 p.m. Staff at LongHorn Steakhouse asked police to issue a “No Trespass” order to a 39-year-old man who refused to leave. The allegedly intoxicated diner said that someone had taken his $600 Louis Vuitton sunglasses from the table and he would not leave until they were returned.

May 10

1:57 a.m. A 40-year-old London woman was arrested for driving without headlights and operating a vehicle while intoxicated after a patrol officer saw her make an illegal U-turn. She was transported to the Fairfield County Jail.

1:50 p.m. Police issued a “No Trespass” order to a 22-year-old Columbus woman who was throwing dishes at Thai Paradise.

4:58 p.m. A 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, both from Pickerington, were issued “No Trespass” orders from Kohl’s after they were caught using merchandise inside the store that they had not purchased. The report was sent to the Fairfield County Juvenile Prosecutor regarding possible criminal trespass charges against the 14-year-old because he had previously received a “No Trespass” order from the same location. Both were released to their parents.
