Buckeye Lake, Ohio — Buckeye Events proudly announces the return of the 2026 Buckeye Lake Pirate Fest sailing into the region May 15–17, 2026. Now in its third year, the free, family‑friendly festival continues its rapid growth with a new, larger location, an expanded Pirate Market, the return of the Tri‑County Treasure Hunt at more than 30 participating locations, more entertainment than ever before, and signature community traditions that celebrate the spirit of Buckeye Lake.

“Our new Port Royal home lets us expand the adventure with more excitement, more local business involvement, and more immersive experiences for the tri‑county Buckeye Lake region in 2026.” – Captain Kelly Collins, Producer.

What’s New in 2026
A Larger Port Royal & Expanded Pirate Market: Festival Moves to Larger Port Royal Venue to Support Rapid Growth

This year, Pirate Fest drops anchor at its new home: Port Royal at Captain Big Stan’s Bar, located at 8635 Blackbird Lane, Thornville, Ohio. The expanded venue provides significantly more space for vendors, entertainment, themed activities, and the rising number of visitors who have made Pirate Fest one of the region’s most anticipated annual events.

The 2026 Pirate Market features 100 vendor spaces on an expanded gravel marketplace, now home to both the Pirate Market and the brand‑new Pirate Renaissance Market. Visitors can explore a wide variety of pirate, nautical, fantasy, steampunk, artisan, handcrafted, food and specialty vendors from across the region.

Also returning for 2026 is Northern Exposure: the Ripley’s‑recognized World’s Tallest ‘Arvee’ – where guests can shop for pirate gear, décor, and unique festival treasures.

The 2026 Buckeye Lake Pirate Fest supported by two new independently operated Ohio pirate‑themed festivals: the Port Clinton Pirate Fest and Ohio Pirate Con — both taking place July 24–26, 2026 in Northern Ohio, expanding statewide excitement for pirate culture and community events.

More Entertainment, More Seating & a Second Stage
For the first time, Pirate Fest introduces two entertainment stages, offering a full weekend of live music, performers, and themed entertainment. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to relax and enjoy the show.

Parking and admission remain completely free ensuring the festival stays accessible to all.

Sponsors & Community Partners
The Buckeye Lake Pirate Fest is made possible through the support of regional businesses, community organizations, and festival sponsors who help bring Port Royal to life each year. Sponsors are featured throughout the festival grounds, on the Treasure Map, and in festival promotional materials.

The overall event is proudly sponsored by Buckeye Lake Boater Training, a hands‑on navigation instruction program and one‑of‑a‑kind entrepreneurial business dedicated to making Buckeye Lake safer — one boat captain at a time.
