On March 12, the Pickerington Food Pantry (PFP) hosted its annual Gala, “Roaring 20’s”, at the Wigwam Events Center, 10190 Blacklick-Eastern Road NW.
Attendees, adorned in their finest jazz attire, enjoyed an evening at the casino complete with dinner, dancing and various table games. Prizes were awarded for winning at the casino.
This marks the third time that the pantry has hosted the event. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Gala was cancelled in 2020 and 2021.
Each time that the pantry has hosted the Gala, the amount of funds raised has increased. This year, the event garnered a little more than $25,000, according to Vanessa Niekamp, the PFP Executive Director.
The funds raised by the Gala help cover the operating expenses of the pantry which is located at 70 Cross Street, in the Olde Pickerington Village.
The next Gala will be held on March 11, 2023, and will have a 70’s disco night theme. Tickets will go live in November online at: www.pickeringtonfoodpantry.org
Pickerington Online would like to again thank the very talented Jamison S. Speidel for the use of his beautiful photographs from the event.
