As part of Fairfield County’s Wands & Wizards Weekend (August 10-12), the Pickerington Village Association (PVA) and the Pickerington Public Library created Wizard Faire. Thousands of visitors came to the event, which was held at Victory Park on August 11.
The faire featured more than 40 vendors who offered a variety of wares including candles, jewelry, medieval garb, books, art and more. Multiple food trucks and bakers sold dishes both savory and sweet.
Wandering entertainers included magicians, a juggler, belly dancers and musicians. While on stage, a variety of musicians entertained the crowd. The birds of prey demonstration by the Ohio School of Falconry drew many visitors as did the costume contest.
Festival goers purchased tickets to play games such as Whack-a-Rat and Slingshot. Many also entered the Cake Walk which is similar to musical chairs. The last person standing on a square at the end of each 10-person round won their choice of beautiful cakes and pastries local bakers donated to the event.
