February 12
6:38 a.m. Someone attempted to steal a Hyundai Accent from a home in Pickerington Village.
10:33 p.m. A 50-year-old Millersport woman allegedly told police that she did not know that the $20.00 bills that she tried to use at Kroger on Hill Road to buy a phone card were counterfeit. A guy named “Tommy” allegedly gave them to her when she sold her couch to him for $120.00. The woman said that she had been shopping at Kroger with her friend.
Her friend called the police to clarify that she had not been to Kroger. It was Superbowl Sunday, and she was at home cooking and watching football. The friend did tell police that it would be out of character for the Millersport woman to knowingly pass fake bills.
February 13
2:48 a.m. Drug paraphernalia was confiscated from the vehicle of a 22-year-old Lewis Center woman during a traffic stop near the corner of Stonecreek and Houndsdale Drives.
2:21 p.m. A Violet Township woman reported that a check she mailed at the post office for $18.40 was stolen, rewritten and cashed for $8,400.90.
6:25 p.m. A woman brought a dog to the police station which had apparently been biting people who lived around Ault Road and Blacklick-Eastern Road. As an officer closed the gate to the station’s kennel, the dog bit him in the thigh, ripping his uniform but not drawing blood. Later, when the Fairfield County dog warden took possession of the dog, the dog chewed through the leash and had to be restrained by a guide pole.
February 14
6:04 p.m. Two women allegedly stole alcohol worth a total of $365.10 from Kroger on Hill Road.
February 15
10:24 a.m. A 41-year-old Pickerington man reported that after using the ATM at PNC Bank, two unauthorized withdrawals were made from his account for $503.75 each. The withdrawals were made from a bank on Fishinger Road in Columbus.
5:48 p.m. A 15-year-old boy on Lorraine Drive allegedly stole $100 from his dad to buy vape pens from an 18-year-old neighbor on Kaye Drive. When the father found out he demanded the neighbor return the money and he asked to speak with the 18-year-old’s parents. Later that night, three vehicles with teenagers pulled up in front of the home on Lorraine Drive threatening to fight the father.
February 16
7:52 p.m. A package was stolen from a home in Sycamore Creek.
February 17
7:23 a.m. A “large fight” broke out between students at Ridgeview Junior High which resulted in two adults being injured.
February 18
4:18 p.m. Teenagers have allegedly broken into a vacant home in the Reserve at Pickerington Ponds to heat unknown substances on the stove. Another blackened container and “a few pieces of wood that appeared to have been burnt” were found near an area where the carpet had melted due to fire.
6:13 p.m. Police arrested a 33-year-old Columbus man on an outstanding warrant after he was pulled over near the corner of Refugee Road and Windmiller Drive for not having a license plate.
9:07 p.m. A 44-year-old Zanesville man allegedly filled a cart with $340.85 worth of groceries then exited Kroger on Hill Road without paying. He told police that he had to feed his family.
11:21 p.m. Someone threw a cinder block through the window of a home in the Turnberry Apartments complex. Cinder blocks were also thrown at vehicles in the neighborhood.
