Police/Sheriff’s Reports April 17-23, 2022

April 17

7:00 pm: A resident reported that someone had tried to break into her apartment on Lookout Lane. Police arrived to find a shoe print on the door, the lock damaged and the frame cracked.

10:15 pm: An officer pulled over a 40-year-old man who was allegedly driving erratically on Diley Road.  The man, who lived near Gender Road, had a learner’s permit and fictitious plates.

April 18

1:30 pm: A gun was found in the field along Stonecreek Drive South.

8:15 pm: Three Pickerington teenage girls were allegedly smoking marijuana in the men’s bathroom located at the Hilltop Shelter of Sycamore Park.

April 19

7:00 pm: A 22-year-old northeast Columbus woman allegedly tried to steal bottles of perfume worth a total of $384.00 from Kohls.

April 20

  

 

12:30 pm: Two girls got into a fight in the front lobby of Pickerington Central.

7:15 pm: A 25-year-old woman from northeast Columbus allegedly tried to steal clothing valued at $939.28 from Kohls by hiding the items in a bag and her daughter’s stroller. The vehicle into which the woman loaded the merchandise had no license plates, her driver’s license had been suspended and Columbus Police had an outstanding warrant on her for disorderly conduct.

April 21

9:15 am: Officers were called to Ridgeview Junior High to deal with a “habitually disobedient” girl who allegedly was refusing to go to class, yelling in the halls and preparing to fight another student.  She cussed at an administrator multiple times while threatening to harm him.

6:30 pm: In the Sycamore Creek neighborhood, a young girl told police that she was threatened by a young man while she rode her bicycle. She said the man, who looked to be in his twenties or early thirties but had gray hair, pulled a gun from the pocket of his hoodie.  On April 16, she had reported the same man had threatened her a knife.

April 22

1:15 am: A man and a woman, both 22-years-old and from Columbus, allegedly set off the fire alarm by smoking marijuana in their room at the Hampton Inn at Winderly Lane. 

10:15 am: Workers participating in the Pickerington Earth Day Clean-up found a loaded syringe on Windmiller Drive.

April 23

5:00 pm: Four teenagers (two boys and two girls) were trespassing in the State of Ohio Nature Preserve portion of Coyote Run (also known as “Kansas”).

April 17

  • Columbus-Lancaster Rd./Thorn Ln., traffic stop, 38 yr. old male, 34 yr. old male, both arrested for felony possession, 33 yr. old female, 41 yr. old female, both arrested for drug paraphernalia. All four transported to the Fairfield County Jail.
  • 7800 block of Edgewater Dr., Canal Winchester, domestic dispute, parties agreed to separate for the evening.
  • 12000 block of Parliment Dr., Liberty Twp., wellbeing, transport to medical facility for medical evaluation.
  • 6100 block of Bixby Rd., Canal Winchester, theft, vehicle windows smashed, several items taken, report taken.
  • 3000 block of Bauman Hill Rd., Berne Twp., vehicle accident, vehicle crashed into a hill, driver abandoned the vehicle and left the scene.

April 18

  • Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, phone call, forgery, report taken.
  • 8000 block of Winston Rd., Violet Twp., grand theft of motor vehicle, 2017 Black GMC Yukon, investigation on-going.
  • 900 block of Groveport Rd., Canal Winchester, deputies responded to a report of a broken-down vehicle, during investigation, vehicle was stolen, registered owners were contacted, investigation on-going.
  • Home Depot, Canal Winchester, theft in progress, 28 yr. old female, arrested, and posted bond, charges will be filed through Canal Winchester Mayor’s Court.
  • 10 block of High St., Canal Winchester, verbal dispute, parties agreed to separate.
  • 6500 block of Hemmingford Dr., Canal Winchester, criminal damaging, parties agreed to separate, 50 yr. old female, issued a summons to appear in Canal Winchester Mayor’s Court for Criminal Damaging.

April 19

  • 8800 block of Basil-Western Rd., Violet Twp., investigate complaint, report taken.
  • 4200 block of Geiger Rd., Walnut Twp., theft, unknown individual withdrew money from a business checking acct., report taken.
  • 6500 block of Lancaster-Thornville Rd., Walnut Twp., criminal trespass, 44 yr. old male, arrested and transported to the Fairfield County Jail.

April 20

  • 8600 block of Pleasantville Rd., Richland Twp., deputy took a phone report
  • 100 block of W. Main St., Village of Amanda, counterfeit currency, report taken.
  • Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office Lobby, report taken for missing CCW permit.
  • 5500 block of Chillicothe-Lancaster Rd., Amanda Twp., petty theft, lawn ornament stolen from yard, report taken.
  • 11000 block of Alspach Rd., Bloom Twp., theft, outside air conditioning unit was stolen from building, report taken.
  • 2900 block of Princeville Dr., Violet Twp., information report taken.
  • 50 block of S. Beaver St., Carroll, extortion, unknown subject is requesting gift cards and money be sent to them, report taken.
  • 12000 block of Oakmere Dr., Violet Twp., unauthorized use of vehicle, victim rented his vehicle through an App, subject has not returned vehicle, report taken.
  • Longhorn Steakhouse, Pickerington, disorderly conduct, 57 yr. old male, arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, transported to the Fairfield County Jail.

April 22

  • 6600 block of Trillium Ave., Canal Winchester, 39 yr. old male arrested for an outstanding warrant and transported to the Fairfield County Jail.
  • 100 block of W. Marietta St. Bremen, 68 yr. old female arrested for outstanding warrant and drug possession and transported to the Fairfield County Jail.
  • Taylor Station off W. Waterloo, Canal Winchester, identity fraud, purchases made fraudulently and charged to victims account, report taken.
  • 1200 block of Lancaster-Kirkersville Rd., Greenfield Twp., vandalism, damaged driveway, report taken.
  • 1600 block of Maple St., Baltimore, domestic violence, parties agreed to separate for the night.

April 23

  • Shell Beach Rd./Cypress Dr., Walnut Twp., 37 yr. old male arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the Fairfield County Jail.
  • 100 block of W. Main. St., Bremen, assault between roommates, both parties agreed to separate for the night, report taken.
  • 4700 block of Blacklick-Eastern Rd., Liberty Twp., criminal trespass, 39 yr. old male arrested and transported to the Fairfield County Jail.
  • Walmart, Canal Winchester, petty theft, 44 yr. old female arrested and transported to the Fairfield County Jail.
  • 400 Oak Ave., Village of Baltimore, information report taken.
  • Deputies were dispatched to the 96 Gender Rd on the report of a train derailment, six boxcars had flipped off the tracks due to a split in the rails, no injuries were reported, a Press Release was sent out by the Fairfield County Sheriff and posted on Facebook.

  • 7600 block of Gundy Dr., Canal Winchester, domestic dispute, parties agreed to separate for the night.
