Pickerington Police

February 19

2:54 p.m. Four teenagers from Pickerington and Violet Township were allegedly trespassing in Coyote Run. See “Stone Age”/”Kansas”.

12:48 p.m. A woman who allegedly stole clippers and trimmers totaling $2,479.91 from  CosmoProf in Pickerington was allegedly caught stealing from other CosmoProf locations around central Ohio.

2:16 a.m. A 43-year-old Canal Winchester woman was pulled over after allegedly driving 52 m.p.h. in the 35 m.p.h. section of Hill Road, then weaving into oncoming traffic in front of Seton Parish.  When officers pulled her over at the post office, they noticed a partial Heineken bottle leaking onto the passenger-side floor board.

When an officer asked her to exit her vehicle, she refused.  She said that she did not have to get out because she had not been read her rights. She also said that her phone was recording.

Once out of the car she allegedly pressed her chest against the officer. When the officer placed a hand on her shoulder and stepped away from her, the woman claimed the officer pushed her.

February 21

3:06 a.m. An officer pulled over a 19-year-old Columbus man who allegedly was not staying in his lane on Hill Road in front of the Sherman shopping center.  The man and his two passengers smelled of alcohol with 14 empty Modelo cans were located in “close proximity to the driver”. He did not provide valid identification.

5:12 p.m. A Liberty Township woman reported that an $18.00 check she placed in the blue box in front of the post office was stolen, washed and rewritten for $4,980.

5:19 p.m. A 41-year-old Columbus man who allegedly was pulled over for a burned-out brake light was driving without a license. He was also wanted for a previous charge of driving without a license.

  

 

9:09 p.m. An 18-year-old Columbus woman without a license was allegedly pulled over near Starbucks for missing a license plate light.  Her 20-year-old passenger did not have a license either. The police confiscated their marijuana.

9:17 p.m. Someone threw a rock through the window of the Pickerington Village Subway after they were told the store was closed.  The store manager reported that they have been having problems with teens stealing snacks and they believed that the rock thrower was one of the same juveniles.

10:00 p.m. A 25-year-old Columbus man was charged with drunk driving after an officer witnessed him weaving in and out of his lane on Hill Road.

February 23

8:16 a.m. Overnight the glass door of the Subway in Pickerington Village was broken by a rock.

2:00 p.m. A 31-year-old Westerville woman known as a regular shoplifter of local Kohl’s stores stole $992.37 worth of merchandise including two $450 KitchenAid mixers.

February 24

3:24 p.m. A Pickerington man discovered that a check he wrote for $700 had been washed, rewritten and cashed for $10,500.90.

3:45 p.m. A Violet Township woman discovered that someone had stolen the birthday card she had dropped into the blue box in front of the post office.  The $100 check inside had been washed, rewritten and cashed for $7,500.

February 25

4:54 p.m. At the corner of Columbus Street and Hill Road, an officer noticed that the temporary tag on a Ford 150 had been altered. Someone allegedly had used a marker to change the expiration date from 1/2/2022 to 9/2/2022. The 40-year-old driver handed the officer the vehicle’s permanent plate. He was cited for not having a valid driver’s license.

5:51 p.m. A 38-year-old Pleasant City man was pulled over by Marcus Cinema for allegedly driving a vehicle with expired tags. Neither he, nor his passenger, a 35-year-old Columbus man owned the vehicle.  Both men had suspended licenses.
