January 14

11:18 am A 68-year-old Pickerington man told police that “Alisa from Hilliard” was extorting him. “Alisa,” whose X (Twitter) handle is “brookealisa81” allegedly threatened to email nude photos of the man to his employer unless he sent her gift cards. He transferred $600 to her before seeking help from the police

7:21 pm A group of girls ran out on their $70 tab at Roosters. One of the teens, a 17-year-old from Columbus, left her phone on the table.

January 15

12:16 pm Police arrested a 32-year-old Lima man on a warrant out of Allen County after he allegedly ran a stop light at the intersection of Evening Way and Meadows Boulevard. He had been driving on a suspended license.

1:32 pm A 34-year-old woman told police that a Honda Pilot nearly ran her off the road. She followed the vehicle to a house in the Chery Hill neighborhood “to see if the driver was a teenager.” A 27-year-old man exited the car and entered the resident, so she drove away.

The woman soon noticed that the Honda was now following her. She said that the vehicle tried to hit her on Hill Road near Popeyes. The driver was now a 21-year-old woman demanding to know why the older woman had followed her boyfriend.

January 16

4:37 pm A woman reported that someone broke into her unit at the Public Storage on Windmiller Drive and stole items.

January 18

3:00 pm A man was cited for driving without a license after an officer pulled him over on east Columbus Street for driving with an expired license plate.

  

 

4:32 pm Police allegedly removed a 14-year-old boy from the Main Branch of the Pickerington Public Library for trespassing. Previously, the boy had been arrested at the library on January 4 for a variety of alleged actions including causing a disturbance, damaging a bicycle, stealing, and attempting to steal a car. When told by staff that he was forbidden from entering library property, he allegedly replied, “I don’t give a f..k.”

January 19

9:54 pm A fight broke out during the Pickerington High School Central home basketball game against Reynoldsburg High School. The altercation, which occurred near the top of the bleachers, allegedly involved a student from Ridgeview STEM Junior High, a student from Reynoldsburg Junior High and a student from Reynoldsburg High.

The incident caused the “closely contested basketball game to be stopped momentarily.”

10:43 pm A construction trailer behind Ohio Health Pickerington caught fire. Violet Township Fire Department suspected faulty wiring to be the cause.

January 20

5:30 pm Police were dispatched to the intersection of Tussing and Hill Roads on reports that a Volkswagen Jetta had rear-ended a Nissan Murano stopped at the red light. The passenger in the Murano was eight months pregnant.

Witnesses followed the driver of the Jetta (a 37-year-old man from Mansfield) as he allegedly fled the scene southbound on Hill Road. His vehicle had sustained heavy front-end damage, and the hood flew open blocking his view. When the man pulled into Fairfield Federal Bank’s lot to attend to the hood, he was immediately boxed in by salt truck drivers who had witnessed him leaving the accident scene.

He allegedly drove over the curb and headed toward Stonecreek Drive, where the police caught up to him behind Raising Canes.

He told the officer, “I was scared, hit a m………. r, thought I could get away, but I couldn’t, and I don’t have a license.”

7:33 pm Police were called to Kohl’s by the store’s loss prevention officer because a 23-year-old Columbus woman with an alleged history of shoplifting was currently filling a cart with merchandise. Her friend, a 28-year-old Columbus woman who also had a history of alleged shoplifting, was waiting outside in a vehicle parked in a handicap spot.

The woman in the car had a warrant issue for her out of Delaware County. As the officers began to arrest her, she told them that she was seven months pregnant, so they placed her in the backseat of the cruiser without handcuffs. Once seated, she told officers that her water had broken, so Violet Township medics were called to transport her to Ohio Health Pickerington.

January 21

3:25 A 35-year-old Pickerington man told police that a check that he had mailed from the blue box in front of the post office had been stolen and cashed in Florida.

January 22

10:19 am A stolen GMC Sierra belonging to Hope Roofing and Restoration was recovered at Giant Eagle. A 34-year-old Columbus man was arrested in relation to the theft.

3:27 pm Marcus Cinemas found a Ruger 9 mm with eight rounds in theatre 13. No gun was located.

10:09 pm After a traffic stop near Interstate 70 and Hill Road, a 39-year-old Columbus woman was charged with felony drug possession, tampering with evidence and resisting arrest.

January 23

9:38 pm A 22-year-old man reported that his military rucksack valued at $3,878.81 was stolen from his vehicle parked at the Turnberry Apartments.

1:31 pm A 48-year-old Pickerington man told police that a 33-year-old Pickerington woman and her friends were allegedly posting TikTok videos reacting to TikTok videos that he had posted. He claimed that their behavior violated a protection order that he had on file with Fairfield County courts.

4:44 pm The loss prevention officer from Kohl’s told police that after reviewing surveillance footage from January 19, she found a video allegedly showing a 31-year-old Columbus man stealing cologne. She identified the man using a face search on arrests.org. He had been suspected of robbing Dicks Sporting Goods. The outfit that he allegedly wore to Dick’s was the same as what he wore to Kohl’s.

3:45 pm Unknown perpetrators allegedly threw a plastic bag containing two large rocks through the window of a home in Lake’s Edge Apartments.

January 25

5:42 pm Three teenagers (a 17-year-old Canal Winchester girl, a 17-year-old Violet Township girl and a 15-year-old Pickerington boy) were allegedly caught shoplifting from Giant Eagle. The Violet Township girl told police that their friends stole from Giant Eagle so they thought they would as well.

January 26

3:23 am After a traffic stop at Hill Road North and Blacklick-Eastern Road, a 26-year-old Columbus man, a 31-year-old Lancaster man and a 33-year-old Reynoldsburg woman were arrested on narcotics-related charges.

2:56 pm An 18-year-old Pickerington man was cited for allegedly driving under a suspended license after he was pulled over near Cherry Hill and Diley Roads for failing to register his vehicle.

5:23 pm Police arrested a 27-year-old Columbus woman on multiple warrants after an officer allegedly found her sitting in a heavily damaged vehicle in Arby’s parking lot.

10:22 pm A 27-year-old Columbus man was cited for driving under a suspended license and having false plates after an officer allegedly witnessed him make an illegal U-Turn at Hill Road and Cross Creeks Ridge.
