Realizing Highland Drive had no outlet to Tussing Road, the driver abandoned the vehicle, which came to rest on a curb, and attempted to flee on foot. Police said he ignored commands to get on the ground before falling several times and eventually surrendering rather than being tased.

The man reportedly told officers he fled because he had been drinking, had been smoking and had outstanding warrants from the Cleveland area.
