The Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce has selected its next President and CEO.

Kim Barlag will assume the role on March 7. Ms. Barlag comes to the Chamber from Ohio University where, for the last eight years, she led the communications and marketing efforts of The Patton College of Education.

A large part of her career has been dedicated to nonprofit associations, most recently as the Director of Marketing with the National Business Incubation Association, whose members assisted start-ups and supported business development. Earlier in her career, in the late ’90s, Barlag worked for the American Motorcyclist Association in Pickerington. During that time, Barlag served on the board of the Pickerington Violet Festival.

A two-time alumna of Ohio University, Barlag has a bachelor’s in English/Creative Writing and a master’s in Visual Communication Management.

“I am excited to get reacquainted with Pickerington and the surrounding area,” said Barlag. “While it has been some time since I was involved with the community, my recent visit to Pickerington reminded me what a wonderful community it is. The fond memories came rushing back. I look forward to getting to know the people and the businesses that make the Pickerington area unique and special.”

“The Board of Directors is happy the Chamber is gaining such an experienced leader. Ms. Barlag brings with her the skills and expertise needed to support the Chamber’s mission of connecting businesses, government and the community to drive prosperity to the Pickerington region.” said Andy Hardy, External Affairs Manager, OhioHealth and Board Chair, Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce.

Barlag, who currently resides in Athens, intends to move to the Pickerington area in the coming months.
