9:25 a.m. Police had an unoccupied, disabled vehicle towed from the intersection of Hill Road and Blacklick-Eastern Road.

12:05 p.m. Someone broke the window of a car parked in the Georges Creek neighborhood, but nothing appeared to be missing.

3:50 p.m. A Pickerington resident reported that an unknown person had applied for a credit card using her identity.

7:30 p.m. Three women entered Ulta Beauty carrying empty bags and left with them full without paying. Surveillance footage showed the suspects collecting fragrances and body care products before leaving in a gray Hyundai Sonata without a license plate. The stolen merchandise was valued at nearly $1,900.

June 30

4:41 p.m. A bank reported possible fraudulent activity on a customer’s account. However, the potential victim no longer lived in the area, placing the case outside the jurisdiction of the Pickerington Police Department.

July 2

1:52 a.m. The Ohio State Highway Patrol requested assistance from Pickerington Police in pursuing an older-model white Chevrolet Tahoe without a license plate that was speeding southbound on Diley Road.

With the trooper and officers closing the distance, the Tahoe suddenly turned left into Fox Glen East, driving through several yards before re-entering northbound Diley Road.

Pickerington Police deployed stop sticks, but the driver avoided them by veering into the southbound lanes. The Tahoe then turned left onto Hill Road, where officers again deployed stop sticks. The driver once again avoided them by crossing into the oncoming lanes.

At Cross Creek Drive, the Tahoe drove over the curb and across the lawn of Pickerington Urgent and Primary Care before returning to northbound Hill Road. With minimal traffic, the trooper and officers continued the pursuit north of Interstate 70, where Reynoldsburg Police took over.

12:11 p.m. Rutherford Auto Body discovered a tracking device hidden on a customer’s vehicle.

2:41 p.m. When the manager at Circle K refused to sell her Backwoods cigars, a 38-year-old Pickerington woman grabbed the cigars from the counter and left without paying.

When officers arrived, the woman said she had shown the clerk her concealed handgun license, which had been accepted in the past.

Circle K declined to pursue charges because the merchandise had been returned, but officers issued the woman a no-trespass order.

7:21 p.m. A Pickerington police officer stopped a 35-year-old Lancaster man for allegedly driving 41 mph in a 25-mph zone on Columbus Street near Alyssa Drive. Lancaster Police took the man into custody on an outstanding warrant.

July 3

9:38 p.m. After she allegedly caused a disturbance, Marcus Cinema requested that police issue a no-trespass order to a 13-year-old Pickerington girl. She was released to her parents.

10:31 p.m. A 15-year-old Columbus boy reported that he had been assaulted by a group of people during the Pickerington fireworks at Pickerington High School Central.

July 4

1 p.m. An 18-year-old Deland, Florida, woman was reportedly driving while distracted when she struck a fire hydrant in the Preston Trails neighborhood.

July 5

1:43 a.m. Following a traffic stop near the intersection of Tussing and Hill roads, police arrested a 24-year-old Columbus man on a warrant out of Pickaway County.

4:57 a.m. Witnesses reported that a man entered the BP station shouting into his phone about the Illuminati and threatening to “shoot them all.” His rant continued after he paid for gas and walked to his black Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Two young women, who had just pulled up to a pump, heard the threats and decided to drive to the Shell station across the street. When the man pulled into the Shell station, the women sped south on Hill Road, but he followed them.

Near Town Square Drive, the 20-year-old driver lost control of her Nissan Sentra and clipped a tree in front of Epiphany Lutheran Church. The impact spun the car 180 degrees before the rear struck a second tree.

The two women ran from the car and hid in nearby bushes as the black car circled the parking lot but left before police arrived. While the 20-year-old passenger was not visibly harmed, the driver suffered multiple injuries. Violet Township paramedics transported her to OhioHealth Pickerington Methodist Hospital, where emergency personnel determined she had suffered a broken orbital bone and an injury to her carotid artery caused by the seat belt.

Back at the church, a passing motorist yelled something incoherent about BP and the Illuminati but refused to stop. Officers later apprehended the man—who was determined to be the suspect—after Circle K called for assistance with a disorderly customer. Police learned the man had a history of mental illness and had previously been known to carry a firearm, though no weapons were found during this incident.

The suspect told police that the Sentra’s darkly tinted windows and lack of a visible license plate led him to believe the occupants were members of the Illuminati who were stalking him.

9:07 p.m. Police arrested a 43-year-old Pickerington man at a home in the Spring Grove neighborhood on a warrant out of Lancaster.
