4:15 pm On February 5, a 40-year-old woman reported that two young Columbus men came to her Willow Pond home to collect money from her 16-year-old son who allegedly promised to sell marijuana for them (see Police Reports Feb. 4-9). On February 12 at 4:15 pm, she told police that the teens had come back to her home at 2 am that morning. Her older son answered the door and told the men that his brother was not there.

The younger of the two men allegedly responded by smashing all the windows of the Chrysler 300 parked in the home’s driveway. The woman said that she witnessed the vandalism but that she was tired and decided to call the police later.

6:18 pm A 30-year-old Columbus woman was allegedly pulled over on Refugee Road near Windmiller Drive after an officer ran the plate on her Volvo and discovered it was registered to a Hyundai. She was also driving without a license.

7:49 pm US Bank temporarily locked an 18-year-old Pickerington man out of his bank account, after the company detected potential fraud.  The man told police that a man named “William Simmons” offered him a personal assistant job which required him to purchase supplies and arrange travel accommodations for foster families.

To cover the expenses, William emailed the Pickerington man checks to deposit into his personal account. The first check was for $1450 from the account of a married couple and the second check, which was also for $1450, was from a plumbing contractor.

When the Pickerington man tried to deposit the checks, the bank froze his account and told the man to file a police report. Pickerington Police were unable to contact the person calling himself “William Simmons”.

6:19 pm A 37-year-old Columbus woman allegedly walked into Pizza Hut demanding a refund that she claimed the general manager had promised her. When the shift manager started to call her boss, the woman asked, “why are you getting smart with me?” then began screaming obscenities.

The manager began calling the police, to which the woman allegedly replied, “I am not afraid of the cops.” She told the manager that she was leaving but would be back at closing to kill her.

A staff member followed the woman to the parking lot and recorded her leaving in a Lincoln Town Car with a confederate flag license plate holder. Police found the car and the suspect at AutoZone. She was given a “no trespassing” order for Pizza Hut.

3:15 pm Staff at Complete Healthcare, Addiction and Gynecology called police claiming that a 28-year-old Columbus man was causing a disturbance and breaking bottles in the parking lot. When police arrived, the man allegedly told the officers that he was upset that the medical team refused to treat him. The staff members asked the officers to issue the man a “no trespass” order.

9:37 pm Patrons of Twins Tavern called police to report that a 44-year-old Pickerington woman had become disoriented, and they were concerned for her safety. The officers found the woman near the bar. The bartender told the police that the woman kept trying to pay her tab but had only managed to open her purse and blankly stare inside.

The barkeeper told the woman not to worry about paying and she left with the police. She refused medical attention, so the officers transported her to the Fairfield County Jail. Two days later, the police called to check on her and she told them that she believed something had been slipped into her drink.

4:13 am Police received a call that a gray Ford Fusion had rolled off the exit ramp from Interstate 70 onto Hill Road and had come to rest on its hood near Cracker Barrel. Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle spin out after colliding with a semi then tumble down the embankment.
