7:17 a.m. A 27-year-old Pickerington woman reportedly ran a red light at Refugee and Hill roads and struck another vehicle. She fled the scene but later called police to report the crash.
5:03 p.m. Police cited a 22-year-old Columbus woman for failing to maintain an assured clear distance and driving with a suspended license after she rear-ended another vehicle on Hill Road near Birchwood Street.
9:46 p.m. Police arrested a 55-year-old woman at Pickerington Ridge Apartments on a warrant out of Lancaster.
June 23
7:59 a.m. A 31-year-old Canal Winchester man allegedly rear-ended a truck on Town Square Drive near Center Street, then fled the scene.
5:02 p.m. Two men entered Kohl’s, grabbed a tote bag, filled it with $723 worth of cologne and left without paying. Both had obscured their faces with their hoods.
7:21 p.m. Kohl’s reported the theft of approximately $300 worth of merchandise. Investigation pending.
8:02 p.m. Multiple juveniles reportedly broke into Ridgeview School and stole emergency radios.
9:21 p.m. A 17-year-old girl told police that someone had been impersonating her online and asking her friends to send inappropriate photos.
9:39 p.m. Following a traffic stop on Diley Road near Busey Road, police cited a 46-year-old Pickerington man for speeding and displaying a fictitious license plate.
11:01 p.m. After suffering an adverse reaction, a 17-year-old Pickerington boy told police he believed someone had laced his vape pen with an unknown substance.
June 24
1:58 p.m. A 41-year-old woman reported that someone stole her Cadillac XT5 between 4 and 7 p.m. June 15 while it was parked near her Meadows apartment. She initially assumed the vehicle had been repossessed until a tow company told her otherwise.
11:45 p.m. While on routine patrol, officers discovered that someone had entered the rear of Tractor Supply by cutting barbed wire and moving a pallet.
June 25
Time unknown. Police charged a 29-year-old Columbus man with animal cruelty and abandonment after he allegedly left a box containing newborn puppies and their mother at the Hunters Run shopping center.
11:46 a.m. The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office requested the Pickerington Police K-9 unit to assist with a narcotics sweep during a traffic stop. K-9 Pimpo alerted deputies to pills, white powder and Xanax bars.
7:56 p.m. While picking up his order from Gionino’s Pizza, a 46-year-old man allegedly asked a teenage employee whether she wanted to buy marijuana. She declined, and he left with his food.
A short time later, the man returned with a 41-year-old woman who was unhappy with their order and demanded a refund. Several witnesses told police the woman threatened the teen, saying she would “beat your ass” and “pull your braids out of your head.”
Police issued the woman a no-trespass order, and the girl’s mother told officers she intended to press charges.
June 26
9:25 a.m. Officers arrested a 43-year-old woman at a home in the Cherry Hill neighborhood on a felony warrant out of Hamilton County.
1:32 p.m. Multiple callers reported that a teenager on a four-wheeler was driving through Sycamore Creek Park. Officers issued the 16-year-old Pickerington boy a no-trespass order prohibiting him from the park.
6:46 p.m. An 18-year-old Pickerington man was cited for running a red light at Refugee and Hill roads and driving with a suspended license.
9:20 p.m. An unknown vehicle struck a fire hydrant, a utility pole and multiple stop signs in the Shawnee Crossing neighborhood before leaving the scene.
June 27
4:22 a.m. An officer on patrol knocked on the window of a vehicle stopped in the left-turn lane from Hill Road onto westbound Refugee Road waking the driver who consented to field sobriety testing.
Police cited the 36-year-old Columbus man for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license. At the police station, he reportedly refused to submit to a blood alcohol test. When officers explained the penalties for refusing, the man allegedly called himself a “dickhead” and asked if he had fallen “asleep at the light again?”
9:33 a.m. A Kohl’s loss prevention officer notified police that a 31-year-old Powell woman had placed approximately $300 worth of Nike clothing into a bag, exited the store without paying and left in a Ford Escape. She was known to have shoplifted from local Kohl’s at least nine times, including an incident at the Pickerington store in 2023.
3:42 p.m. Following a traffic stop near the Refugee Road traffic circle, police cited a 22-year-old Columbus man for driving with a suspended license and operating an unregistered vehicle.
10:27 p.m. An officer stopped a 63-year-old Pickerington man on Hill Road near Refugee Road and cited him for driving with a suspended license. Police also discovered he was wanted on a warrant out of Whitehall.
June 28
4:02 a.m. Residents reported that an unknown man was attempting to break into their apartment at Lakes Edge Apartments and had urinated on the pavement outside their door. When officers arrived, they found a 31-year-old Pickerington man matching the suspect’s description sitting in a Honda Civic with its lights on.
The man, who allegedly appeared intoxicated, told officers his girlfriend would not come to the door or answer his phone calls. He reportedly argued with officers after they told him he was at the wrong apartment until he checked the address on his phone.
Police escorted him to the correct apartment, but when his girlfriend again did not answer the door or her phone, officers instructed him to call a sober driver. When he allegedly refused, they arrested him for disorderly conduct.
At the police station, he reportedly called one officer a “dumb-ass redneck” and told another he would “beat the shit out of him at the gym.” When asked whether he was making a threat, the suspect allegedly clarified that he meant he would beat the officer in a weightlifting competition.
