In the spirit of honoring women’s achievements and fostering community empowerment, Combustion Brewery & Taproom in Pickerington is gearing up to commemorate International Women’s Day with a week full of events.

Features include two special beer releases, women’s trivia, a wellness session and the week will ultimately culminate in a Sip and Shop hosted by Creative Soul March 9th; a celebration featuring local artisans, crafters and entrepreneurs who elevate women in our local community.  From collaborative brews to a vibrant marketplace, delve into the exciting lineup of activities designed to celebrate and elevate the contributions of women in the local community and beyond.

Kicking off the week, two special beer releases are featured, along with a special glassware release that you will not want to miss. Combustion recently hosted their 7th Community Brew event where women and non-binary individuals were invited to learn the art of brewing.

Utilizing the Hops Blend from Yakima Chief Hops to benefit the Pink Boot Society, participants had the opportunity to craft a unique Double Cold IPA, with tasting notes of berry, citrus, stone fruit, and more. This special brew, named “Big Boots”, has been crafted with passion and purpose, and will debut, alongside the crowd-favorite Lady Peiskos brew on March 5th at both Combustion’s locations.

In addition, Lady Peiskos glassware will debut for sale in collaboration with Gay Fad Studios of Lancaster. Gay Fad Studios, offering new and vintage midcentury glassware inspired by visionary entrepreneur Fran Taylor, will also be a main feature of Saturday’s Sip and Shop event.  These featured releases symbolize the collaborative spirit and dedication to supporting women in the fermented beverage industry.

Continuing the theme, a special Women’s Trivia will be hosted at both Pickerington and Clintonville locations.

On Saturday, March 9th at 10 am yoga instructor Alison Forche will lead an hour-long “Bend and Brew” stretching session for those wishing to feel refreshed and energized. Spots are limited and cost $10. They can be purchased at http://www.eventbrite.com/e/bend-and-brew-tickets.

Furthermore, Combustion Brewery is teaming up with Creative Soul to host the “IWD Sip and Shop” event that day from 11 am to 3 pm.

Here is what Kasey Anklam, owner of Creative Soul has to say about the event: “this market extravaganza will showcase talented entrepreneurs, craft vendors, and local businesses that celebrate and elevate the contributions of women in business and the community.

You will not want to miss it!”

Daylight Artist Collective will present their collective of women artists, promoting inclusivity and creativity within the community. Also included in the vendor lineup will be Natural Awa Beauty, a local business famous to the Olde Pickerington Farmers’ Market features handmade and organic beauty products inspired by Africa’s best kept beauty secrets.

From 11 am to 2 pm, the Roaming Rooster Food Truck will be serving breakfast, and the Cousins Maine Lobster Food Truck will be dishing out seafood from 12 pm to 8 pm.

The IWD events at Combustion Brewery are more than just celebrations; they are opportunities for community engagement and collaboration. By supporting local businesses and initiatives that empower and celebrate women, attendees can connect with like-minded individuals and contribute to meaningful causes. From enjoying freshly crafted brews to exploring unique artisanal offerings, there is something for everyone to enjoy while supporting women’s empowerment.
