Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools will host its third Community Conversation of the year and offer attendees an opportunity to choose between one of two engaging sessions. The free event will be held at Eastland Career Center on the evening of Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

In support of Human Trafficking Prevention Month, Eastland-Fairfield will be offering a “choose your adventure” style event in which community members can select between two different sessions happening simultaneously.

Option 1: Walking Wise founder/CEO, Ms. Karla Highman, will share the warning signs, dangers, and prevention methods in our society’s battle against sex and human trafficking through a unique presentation aimed at all age groups.

Option 2: Self-defense training will be provided by the Eastland-Fairfield Adult Basic Police Officer Training program. Join the staff and cadets of the EFCTS Basic Police Officer Training program in a hands-on, interactive self-defense class. Attendees will learn how to defend themselves in a variety of situations using practical tactics and techniques.

This event is free. No RSVP is required. Both sessions are open to the public and all are welcome.

The event, the third part of a year-long series called Community Conversations, will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Eastland Career Center (4465 S. Hamilton Road, Groveport, Ohio 43125). Both sessions will be held inside the Engineering Technologies Center, Eastland’s newest building, which is located toward the back of the campus.
