The Pickerington Local School District (PLSD), in collaboration with the Pickerington-Area Community Arts Committee, is excited to announce, “Artful Ascent,” an artistic journey showcasing the talents of student artists from Pickerington’s K-12 students. The event will be a-month-and-a-half-long art show, with student artwork on display at the Pickerington Main Library, 201 Opportunity Way, from January 21 to March 8, 2025.

“Artful Ascent” will highlight the diverse and creative works of PLSD students, bringing their artistic endeavors into the heart of the community. To celebrate the opening of this exhibit, an artist reception will be held on January 21 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pickerington Main Library. This reception will offer attendees an opportunity to meet the young artists and discuss their work.

“I am thrilled to announce a unique collaboration between the Pickerington-Area Community Arts Committee and Pickerington Schools, designed to foster a stronger sense of community and underscore the vital role of the arts in our lives,” said Lakeview Junior High School Visual Arts Creativity Specialist Sheryl Broz-England.

“This exciting partnership culminates in ‘Artful Ascent,’ our first student art exhibit. ‘Artful Ascent’ will showcase the vibrant and imaginative artwork of Pickerington students from kindergarten through high school. This diverse exhibition will offer a captivating glimpse into the creative journeys of our young artists, demonstrating the remarkable growth, dedication, and artistic skill of both our students and their instructors.”

The Pickerington-Area Community Arts Committee and the Pickerington Local School District invite community members, art enthusiasts and families to attend the exhibit and support these budding artists. This initiative not only aims to showcase student talent but also fosters a deeper appreciation for the arts within the community.
