This weekend, dive into a heartwarming underwater adventure as Rise Up Arts Alliance brings Rainbow Fish the Musical to life on stage in Lancaster.

Performances will take place from May 16 through May 18 at the Lancaster Parks & Recreation facility, located at 632 W. 5th Avenue. This colorful, family-friendly show is an adaptation of Marcus Pfister’s beloved children’s book and is perfect for audiences of all ages.

Rainbow Fish tells the story of a beautifully shimmering fish who learns that true happiness is achieved through kindness.

Director Jessica Hill shared, “Rainbow Fish is a story about a fish who learns that friendship and how you treat others is more important than what you have or what you look like. It is a fun revival of a classical tale that has a great message.”

Performances begin Friday, May 16 at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, May 17, there will be a special sensory-friendly matinee at 2:00 p.m., followed by an evening show at 7:00 p.m. The final performance will be held Sunday, May 18 at 4:00 p.m. The sensory-friendly performance on Saturday afternoon will feature adjusted sound and lighting levels to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for individuals with sensitivities.

Rise Up Arts Alliance is a nonprofit organization committed to providing inclusive and accessible theatre experiences for learners of all abilities.

“Rise Up Arts Alliance believes in giving every person the chance to learn and grow through the arts,” said Hill. “Come out and support these amazing kids who have worked so hard to put on a great show.”
