It’s May, and that means one thing around here: the World’s Largest Diaper Drive™ is officially underway. I’m proud to be part of something so big, so meaningful, and so rooted in love for our neighbors. We’re hoping to collect over a million donated diapers this month—and I believe, with your help, we can do it.
Let me tell you how it all started. A few years back, my husband Tim and I were getting ready to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Instead of gifts, we asked folks to give us diapers. We had no idea how many people would respond. What we saw that day—generosity, compassion, community spirit—lit a fire in us.
That one gesture turned into Bottoms Up Diaper Bank and, eventually, the World’s Largest Diaper Drive™ became a realization of an idea Tim had five years ago.
Now here we are, working with churches, businesses, and diaper banks in more than 25 counties in Ohio. People from all walks of life are pitching in. In Minnesota, they’re aiming to collect 150,000 diapers in just one month. In Tennessee, in Ohio, and beyond, communities are stepping up to help parents who are struggling.
And that gives me so much hope.
If you’re wondering why diapers matter so much, let me be plain: 1 in 2 families can’t afford enough of them. And food stamps don’t cover diapers. That means moms and dads are making heartbreaking choices every single day. I’ve seen it. I feel for their babies. I imagine the tears in their eyes when they realize they’re not alone.
So I’m asking you to join me. Drop off a pack of diapers. Set up a collection bin at work or church. Volunteer. Donate. Spread the word. Every little bit helps. Every diaper you give helps keep a baby clean and healthy—and helps a parent breathe a little easier.

I believe in this drive because I’ve seen what love in action can do. Let’s show the world how powerful kindness can be—one diaper at a time.
Top 10 Reasons to Host a Diaper Drive:

- Diapers Are a Basic Need. Babies can’t wait. Without diapers, children are exposed to health risks and parents face heartbreaking stress.
- Support Families in Crisis. Diaper need often affects families experiencing poverty, homelessness, or unemployment. Your drive offers immediate relief.
- No Government Assistance Covers Diapers. Programs like SNAP and WIC don’t cover diapers, leaving struggling parents with few options.
- Empower Parents. Providing diapers helps parents attend work or school and reduces the shame and isolation of diaper insecurity.
- Promote Health and Dignity. Clean diapers prevent rashes, infections, and unnecessary pediatric visits.
- It’s Easy and Impactful. A diaper drive can be simple to organize, yet deeply impactful—every diaper collected helps.
- Unite Your Community for Good. Businesses, churches, schools, and neighbors can come together with one shared goal: helping babies.
- Raise Awareness. Many people don’t realize diaper need exists. Your drive educates and mobilizes.
- Get Kids Involved in Giving. Diaper drives are a family-friendly way to teach kids about compassion and service.
- Be Part of a National Movement. Join forces with organizations across the country to help end diaper need—your drive makes a difference.
