A new business has officially landed in Pickerington Village. The Molt and Moon, a clothing and lifestyle boutique, celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 20.

Approximately 30 people gathered for the event outside the shop’s cozy storefront at 6 Lockville Road. Among those in attendance were Pickerington Mayor Lee Gray, Councilwoman Jaclyn Rohaly, and Jonette Haberfield of Visit Fairfield County. The ceremony also drew a supportive crowd of family, friends, and fellow business owners from the Pickerington Village community.

Owner Kasey Anklam, who founded the boutique with a vision to create an inviting space for creativity and connection, greatly appreciated the encouragement and support.

“I’m very thankful for all the people that showed up for the opening,” Anklam said. “as well as the ones who have had a part big or small in my journey!”

After the ribbon was cut, guests were welcomed inside with champagne and encouraged to explore the boutique’s eclectic and thoughtfully curated offerings.

“We sell men’s and women’s new and vintage thrifted items with a specific vibe,” Anklam explained. “Our collection blends rock ‘n’ roll rebellion, athletic spirit, witchy allure, bohemian freedom, and Mid-Century Modern (MCM)’ cool. We curate affordable pieces designed to help you express your authentic self.”

Many of the store’s items are sourced from Central Ohio makers, emphasizing Anklam’s commitment to sustainability, individuality, and supporting local artists.

The ribbon cutting, held in partnership with the Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce, represents the latest milestone in the continued revitalization of Pickerington’s historic downtown.

The Molt and Moon is now open Thursdays through Sundays and plans to host ongoing community events, including a “First Sundays Market” featuring local artists, makers, and live music.

Looking ahead, the boutique will participate in Pickerington Village’s July Shop Hop on July 10, with a special “Yard Sale” theme.

“I will have a discounted inventory and use of the sidewalk and part of the parking lot with racks and items,” said Anklam. “We are not doing consignment, but we will welcome donations. If we don’t sell, we will donate to Volunteers of America.”
