[CARROLL, OH] – The Fairfield 33 Development Alliance and the Fairfield County Workforce Center are thrilled to invite the public to a ribbon cutting ceremony commemorating the newly renovated facility at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Guests will be able to tour the facility, located at 4465 Coonpath Road NW, that features a new healthcare area and construction lab.
Established in 2020, the Fairfield County Workforce Center was created to bridge the skills gap for high-demand industries like manufacturing, skilled trades, and healthcare. It serves as a collaborative hub for economic development, offering training to youth and adults to meet local employer needs. The renovation, which also includes new public meeting facilities, addresses the evolving programming taking place at the center, while anticipating future needs.
“The county commissioners have been supporting the mission of the Workforce Center since its inception and we are pleased to see this renovation come to fruition because it is an indication that the facility is being used to its full potential and benefiting students and the community alike,” said Fairfield County Commissioner Dave Levacy. “The State of Ohio has been instrumental in the success of the Workforce Center. These renovations couldn’t have happened without the support of the governor’s office, Sen. Schaffer, and Reps. LaRe and Miller.”
“It really has been remarkable to see the changes taking place here, both literally and figuratively,” said Rick Szabrak, Fairfield County Economic and Workforce Development Director. “Our goal here has always been to introduce and inspire interest in future careers by providing hands-on experiences in engineering, building, and health-related fields. But we are also playing an important role in bringing together community leaders, businesses, and educators and it is incredible to have a space to host them as we keep a planful eye on the future.”
The program will include remarks from students, business partners, and local officials. Light refreshments will be provided and tours will be offered to guests. For additional information, email jennifer.sturgeon@fairfieldcountyohio.gov.
