Lancaster, OH – The American Red Cross and Pizza Cottage are teaming up this August to encourage Fairfield County residents to donate blood and help save lives. Now through August 31, anyone who donates blood at a Fairfield County Red Cross blood drive will receive a $5 Pizza Cottage gift card. This offer can only be redeemed at the Pickerington, Lancaster, and Buckeye Lake locations.

“We are excited and proud to partner with the Red Cross again this August to continue supporting their life-saving mission,” said Larry Tipton, owner of Pizza Cottage. “We hope our small gesture will encourage more people to donate blood to save lives, especially since donations often decline during the summer months. It’s our way of giving back and making a positive impact in the community.”

The American Red Cross supplies about 40% of the U.S. blood and blood components, but only an estimated 3% of eligible individuals donate each year. The gap can make it difficult to meet ongoing patient needs. One blood donation can help save up to three lives, and because blood and platelets cannot be manufactured, volunteer donors are essential.
