Pickerington Precinct A Approves Alcohol Sales for Village Restaurants

Residents of Pickerington Precinct A approved three ballot issues that will allow restaurants in Pickerington Village to apply for alcohol permits without the need for individual ballot initiatives.

While beer sales were already permitted in Precinct A, wine and spirituous liquor sales had been banned since Prohibition and were never reinstated. With the passage of the three issues, the entire precinct will now be designated as “wet” by the State of Ohio.

Ohio-based restaurant group Local Cantina’s plan to open a location at 4 E. Columbus Street was contingent on the measures passing. The City of Pickerington owns the former mid-century gas station, which most recently served as a satellite office for the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office.

Results from the Fairfield County Board of Elections:

Local Cantina’s plan to move into this City of Pickerington-owned, former service station (northeast corner of Columbus and Center Streets) was contingent on Precinct A voters passing three ballot issues permitting alcohol sales in Pickerington Village.
