
November 10
12:21 p.m. A community member turned in a loaded magazine that had been found on Fuller’s Circle.
1:08 p.m. At Ulta Beauty, a 22-year-old woman and a 40-year-old woman, both from Columbus, allegedly concealed items and walked out without paying. They were cited for theft and no-trespassed from the business.
3:50 p.m. A resident of the Residence at Turnberry told police that prescription pain medication had been taken from her apartment.
November 11
9:26 a.m. Emergency crews were called on a report of a fire in a unit of the Residence at Turnberry. Upon arriving, police discovered smoke wafting from an upstairs window and quickly located a maintenance worker with a key to the apartment. Officers evacuated the remaining units and ushered families aside to make room for fire crews.
The Violet Township Fire Department entered the smoke-filled apartment and discovered the kitchen aflame. They extinguished the fire and rescued pets including three dogs, two cats, and a couple of snakes. At this point, the resident arrived. She was told that the fire “appeared to have been related to a Crock-Pot.”
6:19 p.m. An employee of Domino’s Pizza and a stylist from Great Clips argued about parking behind their respective stores in the Kroger plaza on Hill Road. The stylist was allegedly upset that the pizza employee parked his Ram truck behind her Honda Accord, blocking her from leaving. The pizza employee was allegedly upset that the stylist continued to park in front of the back door of Domino’s in a way that left little room for other vehicles.
They each returned to work, but when the stylist finished her shift, she discovered damage to the front end of her car. Police found no evidence that the pizza employee’s truck was involved.
November 13
1:45 a.m. Police stopped a Ram truck on Hill Road near the interstate for allegedly bearing false plates and having a faulty license plate light. Officers photographed the contents of the vehicle and then impounded it.
2:05 a.m. A resident reported that packages had been stolen from the front step of an apartment in the Residence at Turnberry.
9:57 a.m. A woman reported that a dog on a leash bit her as she jogged through Longview Highlands.
3:03 p.m. A 52-year-old man allegedly attempted to steal a side-by-side parked at the portion of Coyote Run off Lockville Road.
November 14
12:39 a.m. An officer pulled over a Mazda on Hill Road near Stonecreek Drive for allegedly driving 65 mph in a 45-mph zone. When retrieving her identification, the 51-year-old driver fumbled and her license became wedged between her seat and the center console. After seeing an open bottle of vodka in her purse, the officer asked her to complete a field sobriety test and then arrested her for driving under the influence. Her license had already been suspended from previous drunk driving convictions.
4:32 p.m. Police removed two women from Kohl’s for allegedly concealing items in their clothing.
November 16
3:15 a.m. After pulling over a Hyundai Accent on Hill Road near Refugee Road for no license plate light, improper display of tags, and a cracked windshield, an officer discovered that the 19-year-old driver had a suspended license, as did his two passengers.
11:45 a.m. Two Columbus women, ages 22 and 24, were cited for theft and possession of criminal tools after they allegedly left Kohl’s without paying for concealed items.
12:28 p.m. Emergency crews were called to Victory Park on a report that a Porta Potty had been set on fire. Fire crews extinguished the fire. A family at the playground told officers they had not seen anyone else in the park.
3:44 p.m. Police cited a 52-year-old Reynoldsburg man for theft after he allegedly concealed items at Kohl’s and left without paying.
4:28 p.m. Police cited a 35-year-old Illinois man for theft after he allegedly concealed items at Kohl’s and left without paying.
7:25 p.m. After paying his tab at Classic’s Sports Bar & Pub, a 40-year-old Columbus man left, accidentally leaving his credit card on the bar. A short while later, he and his 32-year-old female companion returned. He reportedly demanded the card be returned and began throwing glasses. Police issued the couple a “No Trespass” order. The credit card was still on the bar.
