May 26

11:25 a.m. Someone stole a 9mm pistol from an unlocked vehicle near Diley Road.

3:07 p.m. The Loss Prevention Officer at Kohl’s reported that a 40-year-old man with a history of shoplifting from Columbus-area Kohl’s stores had just left with kitchen appliances valued at $879.96.

May 27

3:03 p.m. While stopped at the traffic light on Refugee Road near CVS, an officer noticed that the temporary tags on a Honda Civic beside him had expired. When the light turned green, the Civic didn’t move forward. Instead, the 32-year-old driver gestured for the officer to go ahead. After a few moments, the Civic crossed the Hill Road intersection and turned into the Walgreens lot.

The officer followed and signaled for the vehicle to stop. The woman was driving without a license, her passenger was wanted on a warrant out of Franklin County, and they were in possession of drug paraphernalia.

May 28

5:19 a.m. A Hyundai Elantra crashed into a home located inside the Y-intersection of Long Road and Columbus Street. The 29-year-old driver did not require medical attention, but police allegedly observed that his eyes were “extremely dilated” and his speech was “thick and slurred.” After a field sobriety test, officers arrested the man for driving under the influence. A breathalyzer test returned negative for alcohol, and a blood test was ordered to determine whether drugs were a factor.

7:26 a.m. Overnight, an unknown vehicle veered off the side of Stonebridge Boulevard, destroying a mailbox and a tree before fleeing the scene. Scattered debris indicated the vehicle was likely a black GMC.

6:07 p.m. A 38-year-old woman in the Longview Highlands neighborhood reportedly called police because her adult son was arguing with her. She was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Reynoldsburg.

9:43 p.m. In the Fox Glen West neighborhood, officers found a 39-year-old woman asleep behind the wheel of a Ford Ranger. She had a suspended license and was wanted on a warrant out of Franklin County.

May 29

2:40 p.m. A 65-year-old woman told police she suspected that a guest at one of her monthly house parties had stolen a ring valued at $2,300 from a box under her bed.

8:42 p.m. A DoorDasher reported that while he was waiting for an order to be prepared at D.H. Wu Chinese Restaurant, someone stole his Honda Civic, which he had left unlocked with the engine running. Inside the car were his passport, iPhone, and a laptop computer.

May 30

6:31 p.m. Prescription medication was allegedly stolen from an unlocked truck parked along West Columbus Street.

May 31

4:55 p.m. A 15-year-old boy allegedly threatened over Instagram to kill a 15-year-old girl and her family.
