March 9

6:02 a.m. A 29-year-old Columbus woman was charged with driving under suspension, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and failure to maintain reasonable control after crashing into a yard near Diley Road and Columbus Street.

1:45 p.m. A vehicle window was smashed overnight in the Georges Creek neighborhood.

March 10

3:21 p.m. A dental office on Diley Road turned over a small baggie of white powder found in an exam room.

7:53 p.m. A 40-year-old Columbus man was cited for driving under suspension and expired registration following a traffic stop near Hill and Refugee roads.

11:54 p.m. A delivery driver reported that a man approached him aggressively at Speedway, implying he had a gun and threatening to “blow your brains out.” The suspect claimed to be a gang member and displayed a bag of what he said was fentanyl telling the driver that he makes $100,000 per week selling drugs. The suspect left in a Nissan Altima but the license plate returned to a Honda registered in Virginia.

March 11

11:02 a.m. A Pickerington business owner reported fraudulent transactions allegedly conducted by a 57-year-old Canal Winchester man.

11:25 a.m. A vehicle windshield was shattered on Bridgewater Drive.

3:13 p.m. A 35-year-old Columbus woman was issued a no-trespass order at Buff City Soap after reportedly swinging a stick inside the store. She was found in possession of a $4.00 wooden scoop stolen from Buff City and drug paraphernalia. When questioned about three glass pipes, the woman allegedly told officers that “the court system already knew that I smoke crack”.

8:30 p.m. A 43-year-old Canal Winchester man was cited for driving under suspension and expired registration on Hill Road. His vehicle was impounded.

March 12

9:38 a.m. A license plate was stolen from a vehicle at apartments on Birchwood Street.

7:56 p.m. A Pickerington man reported losing approximately $3,800 in a phishing scam involving someone posing as a bank representative.

March 13

12:15 a.m. A 19-year-old Sidney man was arrested after a traffic stop on Hill Road revealed he was wanted on two warrants. Officers reported the man appeared to reach for a handgun before complying with commands. The firearm was found disassembled, with ammunition located in the vehicle.

5:04 p.m. A 28-year-old Columbus man was cited for speeding and driving without a license on Windmiller Drive.

March 14

12:35 a.m. A 23-year-old Columbus woman was arrested for burglary after allegedly throwing a rock through an apartment window on Autumn Ridge Circle to gain entry.

5:32 a.m. A 34-year-old Columbus man was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated after being found slumped over his steering wheel near Red Robin.

12:53 p.m. A 26-year-old Reynoldsburg man, driving without a license, rear-ended another vehicle near Hill Road and Interstate 70.

5:08 p.m. A guest reported money and jewelry stolen from a room at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites.

5:44–9:31 p.m. Police responded to multiple incidents related to a large teenage gathering that began at Get Air and spread to nearby businesses. The event drew hundreds of teens after being promoted on social media. (See related story – Teen Takeover.)

March 15

 

12:46 a.m. Two brothers, ages 21 and 24, both of Columbus, were arrested for disorderly conduct following a fight with security at Jhapali Kitchen & Bar after refusing to leave the premises.

1:28 p.m. A 38-year-old man was removed from La-Z-Boy after refusing to leave during a dispute over the store not honoring the price listed on the tag. Employees believed the man had altered the tag with a marker.

8:42 p.m. A 67-year-old Pataskala man was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated after crossing left of center and striking another vehicle on Hill Road.
