4:43 a.m. A couple staying at the Comfort Inn reported that their Dodge Charger Scat Pack had been stolen. (A Scat Pack is a special model featuring unique trim and other modifications, including launch control, red brake calipers, and three vents in the hood.) Broken glass and the vehicle’s wheel lock were found in the parking space.
After completing a witness statement regarding the theft, the car’s owner was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Reynoldsburg.
4:58 p.m. After an officer pulled over a GMC Yukon for allegedly driving 54 mph in a 35-mph zone—which drops to 25 mph—on northbound Hill Road, the 25-year-old female driver was cited for having no driver’s license and expired dealer tags.
7:20 p.m. A prescription pill bottle was found in the parking lot of Speedway, along with a baggie of blue powder and a baggie containing a “green leafy substance.” Video surveillance allegedly showed that the driver of a white Lexus sedan dropped the items after pulling into a handicap spot to visit the store.
March 17
3:20 p.m. A baggie containing a white powdery substance was found in the grass near the Pickerington Village Farmers Market lot.
5:34 p.m. A man told police he mailed an amplifier from the Pickerington Post Office, but when the package arrived at its destination, the contents were missing.
8:37 p.m. Police arrested a 58-year-old man without incident at his home in the Meadows neighborhood on a felony warrant out of Delaware County.
March 18
2:27 p.m. An unknown vehicle struck a green Honda Civic parked along Courtland Lane and fled the scene. Based on car parts found in the roadway, the suspect vehicle is believed to be a dark gray Honda CR-V.
7:49 p.m. A 19-year-old man reported that someone had found his wallet and was making fraudulent charges to his credit cards.
10:24 p.m. A 24-year-old man was cited for driving without a license after he was allegedly clocked at 57 mph in a 40-mph zone on Refugee Road, west of the hospital.
March 19
3:14 a.m. A dark-colored sedan with tinted windows pulled up to the doors of the OhioHealth Pickerington Emergency Department and dropped off a 19-year-old man with an obvious limp. Hospital staff quickly attended to the man, who had suffered a gunshot wound to his left buttock.
The victim told police he had been celebrating his birthday in his neighborhood near Lowe’s when he was shot. He did not know where the shooter had been positioned, nor who had fired the shot.
5:12 p.m. A 26-year-old woman told police she parked her Chevrolet Cruze at the Simsbury Disc Golf Course. The vehicle had a manual transmission, so she shifted it into neutral, engaged the emergency brake, and turned off the engine.
She and her husband had just begun their game when they heard a loud crash. The Cruze had rolled down a hill and collided with the basket at the 18th hole. A tow truck retrieved the vehicle but became stuck in the mud, cutting large ruts into the grass while attempting to free itself.
March 20
12:42 p.m. Someone allegedly registered for a credit card using a Pickerington woman’s information and made nearly $3,500 in charges.
2:51 p.m. Tools valued at $2,000 were reportedly stolen from a secured garage at the Pickerington Ridge Apartments.
March 21
6:30 a.m. Police responded to reports of individuals breaking into vehicles in Longview Highlands. The suspects were allegedly teenagers in the neighborhood.
An hour later, on the same street, officers were notified that a stolen Land Rover Discovery had been found parked in the driveway of a home under construction. The pavement had just been poured the previous day. A stolen Honda Accord was also discovered a few blocks away near the woods.
6:00 p.m. Violet Township firefighters extinguished a fence fire in the Pickerington Hills neighborhood. The homeowner told police that sparks from his fire ring had ignited the grass, which spread to his fence and a nearby woodpile.
March 22
1:39 a.m. A 17-year-old boy told police he must have dropped his wallet at Shell, as his bank alerted him to two attempted $170 charges at the gas station.
When officers requested to view surveillance footage, the owner allegedly refused, stating, “Nobody would spend $175 at a gas station.” When informed the card was stolen, she reportedly responded that police hadn’t helped her after a recent car crash, so she wasn’t going to help them.
7:02 a.m. A man reported that his truck, parked in Longview Acres, had been broken into the night before and his wallet stolen. The bank told him the thief made several attempts to use the card, successfully placing a $72.19 order with DoorDash.
Police suspected four teenage boys who lived nearby. When they searched the foster mother’s home, they found the man’s credit cards on the floor beside bunk beds, along with McDonald’s wrappers.
The victim was later arrested on an outstanding warrant with Columbus Police.
8:22 a.m. A Fox Glen East resident reported that security cameras recorded two individuals cutting the locks off his work van and stealing tools.
12:04 p.m. Overnight, someone reportedly broke a window of a work van parked in the Meadowbrook neighborhood and stole tools.
7:45 p.m. A 23-year-old man was cited for speeding and driving with a suspended license after his Toyota Camry was allegedly clocked at 41 mph in the 25-mph zone on Windmiller Drive.
10:54 p.m. A 60-year-old man reported that an unknown 63-year-old man grabbed his arm at Finnegan’s Wake.
