Pickerington Police June 8-14, 2025

June 8

6:24 p.m. While eating dinner on the Rooster’s patio with his family, a 46-year-old man and his father watched an intoxicated 38-year-old man leave the restaurant. The father allegedly began yelling at the younger man and left the patio to follow him. Fearing his father might be harmed, the 46-year-old man—assisted by his brother—reportedly placed the younger man in a headlock.

June 9

10:32 a.m. Police recovered a GMC key fob on Columbus Street, just west of Circle K.

1:35 p.m. Two young men allegedly attempted to cash bad checks at Fairfield Federal Savings and Loan. Police suspected that a man parked at Graeter’s was involved.

5:27 p.m. Someone abandoned a bicycle in a yard along Columbus Street near the Simsbury Disc Golf Course.

6:14 p.m. Police arrested an 18-year-old at his home off Courtright East on a felony warrant out of Lancaster.

June 10

7:24 a.m. A George’s Creek resident provided police with a video showing an unknown man rummaging through his trucks. Due to the recent rise in area break-ins, the resident had intentionally left his vehicles unlocked to avoid potential damage. The suspect was also caught on camera stealing items from a neighbor’s vehicles at 3:34 a.m.

10:51 p.m. Violet Township firefighters extinguished a garage fire in the Windmiller Ponds neighborhood.

June 11

11:57 a.m. A woman told police that when she parked at Kohl’s, she was unable to exit her vehicle because a Ford Mustang in the adjacent space was parked over the line. The Mustang’s driver allegedly approached her and said, “If you can’t get out of your car—maybe you shouldn’t have parked there.”

After an argument, the Mustang moved, and the woman was able to enter the store. When she later spotted the Ford at a stop sign, she allegedly gave the driver the middle finger. She called police to report that the Mustang nearly hit her.

12:26 p.m. A 15-year-old girl allegedly posted on social media: “whoever got my ex rn pls cheat on him, burn his house, key his mommas car, take whatever money he do have, mess with his hb, spread rumors abt him, girl ill help u and pay u.”

6:11 p.m. A 42-year-old man told police he had just merged his Dodge Durango onto the exit ramp from I-70 onto southbound Hill Road when a Honda Accord behind him began honking. He said that as he turned left onto Stonecreek Drive, the Honda driver threw something small and hard from her vehicle. It passed through a crack in his rear-passenger window and struck him on the head.

He said he decided to follow the Honda and instruct the driver to stop. When she didn’t comply, he allegedly pulled in front of her, and the vehicles collided.

The 24-year-old woman driving the Honda told officers the Durango had cut in front of her on the exit ramp. As they approached Cross Creeks Boulevard, she said the Durango driver began honking and yelling, then clipped her back bumper. She said he attempted to pass her, and the vehicles collided.

Police cited the Dodge driver for a marked lanes violation. They found no projectile.

June 12

12:52 p.m. Two delivery trucks were unloading behind United Dairy Farmers, blocking the way for a Chevrolet Tahoe. The Tahoe driver allegedly honked at one of the drivers. Rather than moving his truck, the delivery driver reportedly approached the Tahoe to explain that he would be finished soon. However, the Tahoe driver allegedly interpreted the action as aggressive and pulled a gun. The delivery driver returned to his truck, and the Tahoe left the scene.

2:59 p.m. An officer approached a 23-year-old woman in the Aldi parking lot and asked her to return the fans that her children had allegedly shoplifted.

10:22 p.m. An employee at the Wendy’s located near Get Air allegedly voiced frustration with a drive-thru customer, not realizing his microphone was still on. The customer later told police the worker said, “I’m going to pull these kids out of the window and beat them up with their father.” But the employee claimed he actually said, “If he has his daughters order again, it’s going to be him and me.”

Whatever the exact phrasing, the customer became angry and called his three teenage sons to come to the restaurant. When the boys arrived and heard what had happened, they reportedly began pounding on the restaurant’s locked doors and windows. A witness called police.

June 13

8:11 a.m. A Lexus RX350 reportedly turned left from Long Road onto northbound Diley Road and struck a Kia Spectra traveling through the intersection. Violet Township paramedics transported the 43-year-old Kia driver to Diley Ridge Medical Center. Police cited him for driving without a license. The 60-year-old Lexus driver was charged with failure to yield the right-of-way.

 

June 14

10:32 p.m. Police were called to Longview Highlands on a report of 60 people fighting in the street. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the fight involved only four teenage girls, as everyone else was spectating.
