3:54 p.m. Ulta Beauty reported that on Jan. 9, a 44-year-old man stole three fragrances valued at $335.93.
January 20
8:55 p.m. After allegedly witnessing a 22-year-old Whitehall woman fail to scan all of her groceries in the Kroger self-checkout lane, a manager asked her to move to a staffed register. The woman reportedly became argumentative and was trespassed from the store.
January 21
2:27 a.m. The Licking County Sheriff’s Office notified Pickerington Police that deputies were pursuing a stolen Chevrolet Silverado traveling more than 100 mph westbound on I-70 without headlights. A male passenger had already bailed from the vehicle, which nearly struck a deputy.
Pickerington officers deployed stop sticks near the State Route 256 overpass. Despite damage to a front tire, the truck continued westbound.
2:47 p.m. A resident reported a firearm and a PlayStation were stolen from his vehicle while parked on Courtright Drive East.
5:19 p.m. After being terminated from her position at Violet Springs Health Campus, a 43-year-old Etna woman reportedly instigated an altercation with staff members.
5:58 p.m. Kohl’s loss prevention reported that on Jan. 18, a Groveport man known to staff allegedly stole $163.97 in merchandise.
January 22
12:36 p.m. A 56-year-old Pickerington man caused a four-vehicle collision in the CVS drive-thru. No injuries were reported.
3:10 p.m. A 65-year-old Pickerington man reported that several bank accounts and credit cards had been opened in his name without his permission.
January 23
1:09 p.m. Officers arrested a 26-year-old Reynoldsburg woman after she allegedly threw large rocks at vehicles parked in the Pickerington Police Department lot..
8:37 p.m. A 24-year-old Columbus woman was charged with operating a vehicle without a license after allegedly running a red light and making an illegal U-turn on Hill Road.
January 24
11:54 a.m. Residents of Courtright Drive reported their home was damaged while they were out of town.
12:14 p.m. A 29-year-old Pickerington man was arrested on a Gahanna warrant following a traffic stop near Hill Road and Diley for driving without a license.
1:53 p.m. At Giant Eagle, a woman reported she was confronted by another female shopper who angrily accused her of entering her personal space. The suspect allegedly struck the woman with a shopping cart at the self-checkout, causing a cut to the victim’s heel.
3:51 p.m. A 40-year-old Pickerington man reported being extorted after sharing nude photos in what he believed was a private online conversation.
8:58 p.m. After leaving Classics Sports Bar, a 30-year-old Columbus man allegedly made a wrong turn onto Clint Drive. When the roadway ended in a T-intersection, he failed to turn and instead drove his Ford Edge over a landscaped mound, across a parking lot and into the building housing Buckeye Endocrinology & Weight Loss.
When emergency crews arrived, the man was reportedly standing beside his vehicle inside the medical office. Officers instructed him to climb back into the vehicle and exit through the rear hatch. After complying, he was evaluated by Violet Township medics and then turned over to police for a field sobriety test, which he allegedly failed. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and transported to the police station.
A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly revealed 2.58 pounds of marijuana and $900 in cash. When questioned, the man denied being a distributor, reportedly telling officers he purchases marijuana in bulk to save money. Police confiscated the marijuana and released the cash to his “baby mama”, who arrived to retrieve the vehicle.
