Pickerington Police Jan. 11-18, 2026

January 11


2:56 a.m. Police stopped a Chevrolet Tahoe near Giant Eagle after observing the vehicle travel approximately half a mile with its left turn signal engaged and an expired license plate. Officers reported seeing a 25-ounce Bud Ice in the center console. The driver, a 44-year-old Pickerington woman, allegedly stated the beer belonged to someone else.


Following a field sobriety test, officers attempted to place the woman under arrest. She reportedly resisted and allegedly elbowed an officer in the face before being secured in the back of a cruiser. Officers then discovered the woman’s two-year-old son asleep in the back seat of the vehicle.

January 13

4:48 a.m. A vehicle reported stolen out of New York was recovered and impounded.

January 14

7:52 a.m. A 45-year-old Pickerington woman came to the police station to report a hit/skip accident involving a vehicle marked “Ohio Basement Authority.” The woman provided dash camera footage of the incident.


January 15

5:44 a.m. Unknown suspects broke into a work truck parked at the Comfort Inn and stole approximately $2,000 worth of tools.

2:30 p.m. At Diley Middle School, a school resource officer reportedly separated two duty aides—a 37-year-old Pickerington woman and a 40-year-old Pataskala woman—who were involved in a physical altercation. No injuries were reported and no charges were filed.

6:06 p.m. A 48-year-old Pickerington woman allegedly called police to report that the driver of a Ford Escape parked at OhioHealth Pickerington Methodist Hospital appeared intoxicated. Officers determined the caller was also the driver.

She reportedly stated, “I had too much to drink and I don’t drive and drink.” When asked how she arrived at the hospital, she allegedly responded, “I drove here.”

She registered a BAC of 0.179. The legal limit in Ohio is 0.08.


January 16

3:01 p.m. A man reported that pills were missing from a prescription mailed to his home.


January 17

11:56 a.m. A 19-year-old Columbus man allegedly caused a collision after running a red light at Hill Road and Old Diley Road.

11:26 p.m. A Westerville man provided police with the license plate number of a vehicle that struck his vehicle at the intersection of Tussing and Hill Roads.


January 18

12:33 a.m. A Pickerington police officer assisted an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper during a traffic stop on Hill Road involving a Mercedes-Benz. As officers approached the vehicle, the 38-year-old Columbus driver allegedly reached into the glove compartment for a gun. The Pickerington officer drew his service weapon and ordered the driver to move his hand away from the firearm.

An empty mini bottle of wine in the center console. The driver was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He allegedly registered a BAC of 0.096. The legal limit in Ohio is 0.08.

8:09 a.m. A 39-year-old Pickerington man was arrested on a warrant out of Lancaster after being stopped for running a red light at Hill Road and Columbus Street.
