February 10

1:12 AM: Police stopped a Chevrolet Express van weaving on Refugee Road. The 31-year-old driver had a suspended license.

2:22 PM: Kemba Financial Credit Union reported a 38-year-old man attempting to cash a fraudulent check for $1,782.52 from Houk CPA LLC in Grove City. When questioned, the man claimed he was cashing the check for a friend waiting in a black sedan nearby.

Earlier that day, the Gahanna branch of Kemba flagged a similar fraudulent check incident involving a different individual. Police arrested the suspect, and a warning was issued to other branches.

Upon searching the Pickerington suspect, officers allegedly found drug paraphernalia, including blades, a broken pipe, and burnt foil. The Grove City CPA owner expressed intent to press charges.

3:20 PM: An unknown individual broke the window of a Chevrolet parked at CVS and stole a purse hidden under the seat. The purse reportedly contained tissues and reading glasses but no money.

3:44 PM: A man reported his unlocked Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen from Randy’s Barber Shop parking lot. The vehicle contained a spare key, a wallet, and two minibikes.

6:23 PM: Police allegedly clocked a Hyundai Elantra traveling 54 mph in a 35-mph zone on Long Road near Diley. The 23-year-old driver had a suspended license, and the car’s plates belonged to a Honda Civic.

12:48 AM: An unknown individual attempted to break into Druk International Grocery by damaging a door, but the deadbolt remained secure.

February 13

11:03 AM: An FBI special agent contacted Pickerington Police about a February 9 incident at Marcus Theater. A man in army fatigues presented the manager with a letter, allegedly from President Donald Trump, instructing him to photograph the theater’s exits. Miscommunication led to delays in police involvement, as the manager assumed corporate had already contacted authorities.

February 14

1:59 AM: Police stopped a 33-year-old man with a history of violence driving his mother’s Kia Optima on Interstate 70. The man, who had a suspended license, was arrested on a Columbus warrant. Officers found Percocet in the vehicle, which the man claimed was prescribed for a toothache. He admitted to crushing and snorting the pills but lacked the original prescription bottle.

February 15

12:52 AM: An officer confiscated marijuana from two teenagers during a traffic stop on Hill Road near Interstate 70 for a missing plate light. The legal age for marijuana possession in Ohio is 21.

9:00 PM: A 67-year-old man at Heritage Lounge ordered drinks for himself and friends before driving a Toyota Matrix. He allegedly struck a parked Ford F-150 and later collided head-on with a Chevrolet Traverse. No injuries required medical transport. When questioned, the man reportedly responded, “You tell me, you pulled me over!” Officers arrested him after he became agitated and used racial slurs. He refused a urine analysis test, leading to a felony charge due to three prior OVI convictions (July 2016, November 2019, September 2022). Bail was set at $100,000.

2:01 PM: A patron at Twins Tavern reported a bald man in a light blue hoodie threw a bottle at her father and punched the bartender before fleeing in a Dodge Ram truck.
