5:47 a.m. Guests at motels on Winderly Lane and Hill Road reported overnight vehicle break-ins involving seven vehicles. Most victims reported nothing missing, but one reported binocular valued at $1,800 were stolen.
10:42 a.m. A 30-year-old woman allegedly rear-ended a 64-year-old man at the intersection of Columbus and East streets, then fled the scene.
12:25 p.m. A Lyft driver reported that a 22-year-old Pickerington man argued with him, struck his vehicle, and then charged at him. The driver stated he subdued the man without striking him.
1:24 p.m. A 48-year-old Columbus woman allegedly stole $86 in merchandise from a business near Hill Road and Blacklick-Eastern Road.
3:26 p.m. A 48-year-old Columbus man was cited for driving under suspension near Hill Road and Refugee Road. He also had an active warrant out of Grove City and was taken into custody.
6:17 p.m. Police found a 34-year-old Pickerington man unconscious behind the wheel of his vehicle parked on Pickerington Ponds Drive. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
February 17
9:59 a.m. A 33-year-old Columbus man drove to the Sycamore Creek neighborhood to confront the 44-year-old boyfriend of his ex-girlfriend. When the new boyfriend came outside, the suspect reportedly held both a gun and a bat. The victim ran down the street, and the suspect allegedly fired at least two shots.
February 18
12:20 a.m. After being stopped for having no taillights, a 30-year-old Pickerington man was cited for driving without a license. Police also warned the 39-year-old vehicle owner that he could face wrongful entrustment charges if he allowed the man to drive again without a license.
9:45 a.m. A Pickerington woman reported that two mailed checks had been stolen, altered, and cashed for $1,100.
10:13 a.m. Sheetz reported that on Feb. 13 a 27-year-old man stole $85 worth of beer.
February 19
1:04 a.m. Police stopped a 27-year-old Reynoldsburg man near Tussing and Hill roads for driving under suspension and fictitious plates. His vehicle was impounded.
2:41 a.m. Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from Pickerington’s K-9 unit during a traffic stop near the State Route 310 exit. K-9 Pempo alerted to narcotics.
2:20 p.m. Two vehicles at the Land’s End Apartments had all four tires slashed, possibly related to a domestic dispute.
7:50 p.m. The driver of a Toyota Camry fled after rear-ending a 45-year-old Grove City woman, causing her to strike another vehicle driven by a 43-year-old Pickerington man.
February 20
6:59 a.m. A Nelsonville woman struck a deer near Diley and Busey roads, causing severe damage to her vehicle, which was towed.
7:18 p.m. A 27-year-old Pataskala man attempted a U-turn on Stonecreek Drive and struck a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old Pickerington woman.
8:17 p.m. Police stopped a vehicle near Diley Road and Windmiller Drive for fictitious plates. The 39-year-old Columbus driver was also cited for not having a license. His vehicle was impounded.
February 21
1:27 a.m. Police stopped a 44-year-old Granville man at Hill Road and the interstate for a plate light violation. His passenger, a 34-year-old Newark man, was arrested on a warrant out of Muskingum County.
2:15 a.m. A 24-year-old Pickerington man struck a utility pole and a fire hydrant near Hill Road and Meadows Boulevard.
12:45 p.m. A resident reported items stolen from her mailbox on Hill Road.
3:50 p.m. Four teenagers trespassed into Coyote Run State Nature Preserve and allegedly lit a bonfire while cutting down trees to build a cabin. Despite posted “No Trespass” signs, they claimed they thought it was a public park. Their parents picked them up.
6:39 p.m. At Kohl’s, officers approached two Columbus women, ages 82 and 60, suspected in a prior theft, and discovered they were actively shoplifting.
February 22
8:04 a.m. A 24-year-old Pickerington woman was cited for driving under suspension and failure to maintain control after striking a mailbox and fire hydrant.
8:17 a.m. An unknown person entered a garage in Preston Trails and took items from vehicles.
9:09 a.m. A backpack found at Pickerington Ponds was returned to its owner. It was believed stolen from a vehicle during a string of break-ins. Identification, including a passport and Social Security card, was not recovered.
5:29 p.m. A wallet stolen from a vehicle at the Reserve at Pickerington Ponds was later recovered during another theft investigation.
9:52 p.m. A 22-year-old Columbus woman was cited for following too closely and driving under suspension after striking a vehicle and leaving the scene.
