10:06 p.m. A 43-year-old Columbus man attempting to park confused the brake and accelerator on his Volvo S60 and broke the front window of AJ Wingburger.
1:34 p.m. After a man and his young children returned to their truck at the Hill Road Kroger, they reportedly witnessed a 28-year-old man masturbating in the vehicle beside them. The father confronted the suspect, who drove off. Police located and questioned the man, who said he had been applying lotion to dry skin.
December 29
2:54 a.m. Public Storage reported that a U-Haul drove through the security gate after a failed keycode attempt.
December 30
4:51 p.m. An electric scooter found in the Sycamore Creek neighborhood was turned in to police.
January 1
6:27 p.m. Following a dispute over parking, a customer allegedly entered the Subway in Pickerington Village and threatened an employee.
7:08 p.m. Police issued “No Trespass” orders to five girls who were allegedly drinking canned Cutwater cocktails inside United Dairy Farmers.
January 2
12:10 a.m. A blue Dodge Ram reportedly struck a vehicle at Columbus Street and Hill Road and fled.
10:18 a.m. Police received a report that an unknown vehicle struck a fire hydrant on Zeller Drive.
3:22 p.m. On five occasions in December, a 35-year-old Pickerington man allegedly scanned wine at the Giant Eagle self-checkout, placed bourbon in his bag, then scanned the wine again so he was charged for two bottles of wine. He was identified because he scanned his Advantage Card before each transaction.
5:26 p.m. Police impounded a vehicle for fictitious tags.
11:37 p.m. After allegedly harassing patrons at Classics Sports Bar, a 22-year-old man fought with a group of men he accused of being “illegal Somalis.” When officers arrived, they found the suspect sitting on the patio bleeding from the head. The others had left. The man declined medical treatment, became belligerent, and reportedly shouted vulgar racial slurs and political statements. When Violet Township medics declined to transport him to the hospital, he became more enraged and reportedly told an officer, “I’m going to put your ass in the ground.”
January 3
1:11 p.m. A 50-year-old Pickerington woman reported receiving repeated calls from an unknown man asking for money.
6:14 p.m. After backing into a vehicle on Hill Road, an 18-year-old woman was cited for driving without a license. She left the scene but was later identified.
10:22 p.m. A 49-year-old Pickerington man struck another vehicle on Hill Road near Postage Drive and fled on foot. Police located him and medics transported him to the hospital.
January 4
10:50 a.m. After allegedly shoplifting more than $1,800 in merchandise from Kohl’s, a 35-year-old Reynoldsburg man was issued a “No Trespass” order and taken to the Fairfield County Jail. His companion, a 32-year-old Columbus woman, was also issued a “No Trespass” order and arrested on a warrant out of Worthington. Both reportedly possessed narcotics.
7:51 p.m. A Pizza Hut employee told an Uber Eats driver he could not deliver orders without an insulated bag. The 24-year-old Westerville man became belligerent, and police issued him a “No Trespass” order.
9:14 a.m. Police cited a 33-year-old Reynoldsburg man for throwing a bottle at another driver during a road-rage incident on Hill Road.
10:11 a.m. A minibike valued at $1,000 was reported stolen from Tractor Supply Co.
9:38 p.m. A 31-year-old Columbus woman was cited for driving under suspension.
January 6
12:06 p.m. A 41-year-old Pickerington man reported sending money through Zelle to someone he believed was a friend, which turned out to be a scam.
3:32 p.m. Staff at the Hopebridge Autism Center called police after an intoxicated mother arrived to pick up her children.
January 7
4:50 a.m. On Glengary Court, a resident inadvertently left their parked vehicle in “drive”, and it rolled into another car.
7:08 a.m. A 34-year-old Columbus man was cited for driving without a license after a tire came off his vehicle and struck two other cars. He was considered a fugitive by ICE.
11:02 p.m. After a woman allegedly walked out of the Hill Road Kroger with $300 in groceries, her companion attempted to pay for the items with a credit card. When the card did not work, he left to locate her and neither returned.
12:24 p.m. Pizza Hut reported that a food delivery driver became upset over the company’s insulated-bag policy and threw a ball at an employee.
2:30 p.m. A 52-year-old Columbus man was arrested after attempting to cash a forged check at Fairfield Federal.
4:07 p.m. Ulta Beauty reported multiple thefts including $907 in merchandise taken by two men on Dec. 20; $3,828 taken by a woman on Dec. 21; $1,560 taken by a man on Dec. 24; and $358 taken by a woman on Jan. 3.
January 8
2:38 p.m. A 73-year-old woman reported a check she wrote was stolen and rewritten for a larger amount.
8:53 p.m. At United Dairy Farmers, an intoxicated 22-year-old Chillicothe man reportedly caused a scene after the clerk refused to sell him alcohol. He was issued a “No Trespass” order.
January 9
11:05 a.m. After running a stop sign on Meadows Boulevard, a 45-year-old Galloway man was cited for the violation and for driving without a license.
3:01 p.m. Police cited a 33-year-old Columbus man for driving under suspension, marked-lanes violation, and falsification after he gave officers his brother’s information. Once identified, he was arrested on a Whitehall warrant.
6:26 p.m. Officers arrested a 25-year-old Columbus man after he shoplifted two KitchenAid mixers from Kohl’s valued at $999.98..
