10:28 pm Multiple witnesses called police to report that a heavily damaged Acura TLX had just drove across the lawn of Epiphany Lutheran Church, through a ditch, and was continuing eastbound on Town Square Drive. An officer caught up with the Acura on North Center Street where it allegedly made multiple lane violations before turning into a drive with a locked gate.
The driver, a 30-year-old woman, had a suspended license and allegedly refused to take a field sobriety test. Police reportedly found multiple bottles of alcohol on the floor by the front passenger’s seat.
August 25
12:33 am A 51-year-old woman told police that her daughter tried to run her over in the parking lot of Comfort Inn. She alleged that the Ford Fusion narrowly missed her as she fled into the hotel’s lobby.
2:25 pm Police were called to the Knights Bridge neighborhood after a 30-year-old man allegedly drank too much then began wandering the streets. He reportedly yelled racial slurs at two men working in a yard. Two hours later, he allegedly threatened his own family with a hammer.
4:44 pm An 18-year-old man allegedly stole children’s clothing totaling $297.19 from Kohl’s.
8:31 pm Police issued an arrest warrant for a 38-year-old man after he allegedly threatened to run over his ex-girlfriend’s current boyfriend in the couple’s driveway in the Graystone neighborhood. The current boyfriend told police that the ex-boyfriend brandished a handgun then yelled, “You a b___h ass n____r!” as he drove away.
August 26
11:32 pm A man allegedly grabbed four (24 can) cases of Bud Light from the display at Speedway, told the clerk, “Sorry, I have to,” then left without paying. Police believe that he drove away in a gray minivan with no plate.
5:54 pm Police arrested a 42-year-old man in the parking lot of Kroger on a warrant out of Lancaster. Officers allegedly found a golden knife and brass knuckles in his vehicle.
August 27
2:23 am After being pulled over in the lot of Diley Middle School for no visible license plate, the driver of a Mazda CX5 allegedly told the officer that he did not have his identification with him but provided a name and birthdate.
The officer told the driver that there was no record of a person with that name, however there was a man matching his description wanted on a warrant out of Franklin County.
The driver allegedly told the officer that the wanted man was his twin brother. However, after the police explained the repercussions of making false statements, the driver reportedly owned up to his true identity.
August 27
1:29 am After their Dodge Dart was pulled over at Speedway for having only one headlight, three teens and a 20-year-old woman were cited for underage possession of marijuana.
August 28
12:34 am A 37-year-old parolee was arrested outside Twins Tavern after he allegedly tried to start a fight.
8:11 am A Toyota Avalon was reportedly stolen from Fox Glen East; the keys had been in a purse stolen from a nearby Chevrolet Equinox.
8:31 am A 43-year-old woman was issued a “No Trespass” order from McDonalds after she allegedly flipped off the drive-thru workers. She told police that her daughter’s chocolate milk was not in the bag. The employees claimed that she tried to order additional food at the window which is not allowed.
10:48 am Electronics were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the Fox Glen East neighborhood.
August 29
3:40 am Police pulled over a Honda Civic after it allegedly ran the red light on Columbus Street at Hill Road. The 25-year-old driver reportedly told police that he had three “Jack and Cokes” and a concealed carry permit. His .9 mm Glock was allegedly on the floor by his feet. He reportedly blew a .230 bac. The legal limit in Ohio is .08 bac.
12:11 pm A 48-year-old woman told police that her phone had been stolen from the Hampton Inn and that it pinged to the EcoATM at Walmart in Reynoldsburg. An EcoATM is a kiosk where people can drop off cell phones in exchange for cash.
August 30
1:58 pm Police issued a “No Trespass” order to a 47-year-old man who allegedly yelled at the staff of Violet Springs Health Campus.
3:29 pm A Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 61-year-old woman allegedly hit a Chevrolet Cruze driven by a 17-year-old girl in the Dollar Tree parking lot, then fled the scene.
5:50 pm A 12-year-old boy was allegedly jumped as he was walking past Circle K on his way home from school.
6:55 pm A 50-year-old man reported that while he was purchasing lottery tickets from Get Go, the man in line behind him was standing uncomfortably close. After leaving the store, he discovered fraudulent charges on his bank card.
7:18 pm Two men driving a black Hyundai allegedly robbed the Kohl’s in Grove City, then the Kohl’s in Pickerington before heading to Lancaster.
11:47 pm A man called police from the parking lot of the north Subway to report that a stranger was passed out behind the wheel of his friend’s Lexus 300. When officers arrived, they allegedly found a 43-year-old man unresponsive but breathing in the front seat of the Lexus holding a Honda key.
When medics revived the man, he allegedly told them that he drank three beers.
August 31
1:25 am After pulling over a Nissan Rogue at Classics Sports Bar for allegedly driving without headlights, the officer discovered that the driver was wanted on a warrant out of Franklin County,
2:26 am A 35-year-old woman was cited for allegedly driving under the influence after an officer pulled over her Jeep Cherokee on Hill Road near Diley for not having rear lights.
10:53 pm An unknown person allegedly attempted to pry open the ATM outside Huntington Bank.
