Pickerington Police August 14-18, 2025

August 14

12:02 p.m. Seven teen boys allegedly stole candy, chips, drinks, and honey buns from Sheetz. Police contacted the father of one of the suspects, who agreed to pay the store $79.67 for the items.

2:03 p.m. A woman reported that after hosting a family dinner, she was missing diamond jewelry valued at $2,905.

4:56 p.m. An unknown person cashed a forged check from a Sugar Grove social service organization at the Pickerington Huntington Bank. A second forged check was cashed at a bank in Columbus, for a total loss of $3,976.73.

5:11 p.m. Staff at the Kroger on Hill Road reported that a 53-year-old woman had passed out on a scooter in the entrance. Officers administered two doses of Narcan to revive her.


August 15

1:21 a.m. On Hill Road, an officer pulled over a 16-year-old boy for making an improper lane change and because the Mazda 3 he was driving was missing a license plate light. He was also cited because the license plate was a dealer plate that had been reported as lost.

3:00 p.m. A garbage truck snagged low-hanging wires above Losey Drive.

8:50 p.m. An officer pulled over a Hyundai Elantra near the intersection of Hill and Refugee Roads because the expired license plate did not belong to the vehicle. The 33-year-old man driving the car had a restriction on his license prohibiting him from driving after dark.

9:09 p.m. An unknown person smashed the glass door of the Smoke Zone with a concrete block and stole $3,200 worth of cigarettes. The estimated cost to fix the door was $1,600. The owner of the shop believed the perpetrator was the same person who burglarized the store on August 1.


August 16

1:20 a.m. The desk clerk at Country Inn & Suites reportedly told two 16-year-old girls to leave after they attempted to enter a room that had been reserved by a 55-year-old man. He told the girls that unless the man came to the desk to vouch for them, they were not permitted to stay. Shortly after the girls left, two young men entered the lobby and began yelling at the clerk for removing the girls. When the men left, the clerk followed them into the parking lot, where they beat him up.

10:29 a.m. A DoorDasher told police that a revolver had been stolen from his car at some point in the past few weeks.

4:39 p.m. After his Ford F-150 allegedly ran the red light at Marcus Cinema in front of a police cruiser, a 47-year-old man was cited for driving without a license.

7:32 p.m. An unknown vehicle, possibly a light blue Honda Pilot, changed lanes on Hill Road near Tussing and collided with a white Nissan Rogue. The Honda fled the scene.


August 18

2:35 a.m. Police woke a 43-year-old man who had allegedly passed out behind the wheel of his Jeep Cherokee at the intersection of Town Square Drive and Center Street.

8:04 a.m. A 22-year-old man allegedly rode an electric bicycle across Hill Road into oncoming traffic and was struck by a Hyundai Elantra. Violet Township medics transported the cyclist to Mount Carmel East to be treated for a broken leg.
