Pickerington Police August 11-18, 2024

August 11

  • 1:17 pm: Police cited a 17-year-old boy for improper backing and driving without a license after the Dodge Durango he was driving allegedly backed into a Honda Odyssey in Kohl’s parking lot.
  • 5:20 pm: Three brothers (ages 18, 14, and 12) allegedly stole tennis shoes valued at $69.99 per pair from Kohl’s. They fled the store on bicycles but were caught by police near Scramblers. When the store’s loss prevention officer positively identified them, they each removed the shoes from their backpacks.
  • 9:48 pm: A 30-year-old man living in the Lake’s Edge Apartments told police that his neighbor’s Australian Shepherd charged at him, causing him to fall.

August 12

  • 8:22 am: A foreman from Fisher Homes reported that someone had stolen copper wire valued at $2,000 and a trail camera valued at $200 from a home under construction in the Graystone neighborhood.
  • 11:37 am: A woman told police that someone had struck her Honda CRV while it was parked outside Kroger, causing the back window to have multiple cracks.

August 13

  • 11:34 am: Staff at Cold Stone Creamery told police that a 17-year-old employee had allegedly made threatening advances on a 16-year-old coworker, including taking photos of the younger girl’s home and brandishing a gun.
  • 4:44 pm: Violet Township medics transported a 40-year-old pedestrian to Mount Carmel East after he was hit by a Toyota Corolla as he attempted to walk across the onramp from Hill Road to westbound Interstate 70.

August 14

  • 1:09 am: Three teenagers were caught on camera running through a yard in Shawnee Crossing. One allegedly hit the garage door with his shoulder so hard that it left a dent.

August 15

  • 4:52 pm: After an officer allegedly witnessed a BMW 328i make a lane violation at the intersection of Hill and Diley Roads, he clocked the vehicle traveling 47 mph in a 35-mph zone. The 23-year-old man had been driving under a suspended license and his plate had expired.
  • 7:57 am: A 68-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman told police that someone claiming to be from the headquarters of US Bank instructed them to withdraw money from their bank account and place it into a Bitcoin account, scamming them out of $36,500.

August 16

  • 9:06 am: A 26-year-old woman was cited for not having a driver’s license or insurance after an officer allegedly witnessed her run a red light on Hill Road at Stonecreek Drive South.
  • 10:04 am: An unknown bearded man and a woman with facial tattoos allegedly stole seven pairs of trimmers from Cosmo Prof.
  • 7:52 pm: A 27-year-old man was cited for driving without a license after officers pulled over the Chevrolet Aveo he was driving at Walgreens for an expired license plate.

August 17

  • 1:55 pm: A 20-year-old woman allegedly told police that she stole clothing worth $295.50 from Kohl’s to provide for her child and that her 22-year-old female companion had not taken anything. However, the companion was wanted on a warrant out of Grove City.
  • 9:14 pm: Police found a 15-year-old boy hiding in the Kroger liquor section from a group of teenagers who were allegedly waiting to jump him outside the entrance. While an officer spoke to the boy, more teens arrived and began arguing with the first group. Police estimate that around 20 parents were contacted to pick up their kids.

August 18

10:08 pm: Police were called to Classics Sports Bar on a report that a 43-year-old man was pulling a 43-year-old woman across the parking lot by her hair.
