2:42 a.m. — After pulling over a Hyundai on Hill Road for a missing taillight, police arrested the 27-year-old female driver on an outstanding warrant.
2:18 p.m. — Police stopped a Chevrolet Silverado in the parking lot behind Raising Cane’s after the driver was allegedly caught on camera shoplifting from Kohl’s. The 48-year-old reportedly took clothing items (including the shorts he was wearing) and a jewelry box. The total value of the merchandise was $483.29.
April 14
12:57 a.m. — Police pulled over a Toyota on Hill Road for a missing headlight and no visible license plate. The 23-year-old male passenger was wanted on a warrant out of Franklin County.
April 15
4:53 p.m. — In Preston Trails, a teenager was injured when her neighbor’s dog allegedly leapt over a fence and bit her on the scalp. Officers encouraged her to seek medical attention. The dog’s owner was reportedly unable to provide up-to-date registration and rabies vaccination records.
April 16
9:42 a.m. — A Pickerington Hills resident reported that his 9mm handgun was stolen from his truck. A neighbor also reported a missing custom knife from his car, and another resident later discovered a bucket of knives and gloves missing from his vehicle. None of the vehicles had been locked.
2:12 p.m. — A staff member at Marcus Cinema was cleaning a theater between films when a customer told her that cleaning during a movie was “unprofessional.” The staff member informed the woman that no film was currently playing and that the cleaning would be completed before the next showing. The woman allegedly became belligerent, and her male companion had to restrain her from attacking the employee. The couple was asked to leave, but before exiting, the woman allegedly struck the staff member in the side. Earlier that evening, the same woman reportedly insisted on bringing a bowl of ice cream into the cinema, leading to another confrontation.
7:09 p.m. — A teenager reported finding a revolver on the railroad tracks behind the Pickerington Ridge Apartments. It was identified as a Crosman 357 pellet gun powered by carbon dioxide.
April 17
1:35 a.m. — Police pulled over an Acura on Refugee Road near Giant Eagle for a missing headlight and discovered six teenagers in the vehicle—none of whom had a driver’s license. The 17-year-old driver had allegedly taken his father’s car while his parents were out of state for a medical procedure. When the boy called his father, the officer took the phone to explain the situation. The person on the line reportedly behaved in a way uncharacteristic of a parent. When asked for a birth date, the male allegedly gave one that didn’t match the vehicle’s registered owner. The teen driver then admitted that he had called a friend instead of his father. Police later contacted the boy’s actual parent.
5:15 p.m. — A 62-year-old woman allegedly concealed children’s clothing valued at $198.60 in her purse and left Kohl’s without paying.
7:56 p.m. — A loss prevention officer at Kohl’s reported that a 28-year-old woman had concealed clothing under her baby’s car seat and left without paying. Police arrested her in the parking lot and returned the merchandise. She was wanted on a warrant out of Delaware County. Her sister arrived to take custody of the infant.
7:53 p.m. — A teenage boy reported that someone had stolen his electric bicycle while he was playing basketball at Sycamore Creek Elementary School. The bike was later found abandoned a few streets away.
April 18
2:01 a.m. — Police pulled over a Toyota Camry near the Lake’s Edge Apartments because the registered owner, a 24-year-old man, was wanted on a warrant.
5:37 p.m. — An officer conducted a traffic stop on a Kia Sportage near Diley and Windmiller Roads after discovering the 41-year-old owner was wanted on a warrant from the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office.
April 19
2:09 a.m. — A 32-year-old woman was arrested for driving under the influence after an officer allegedly saw her Lincoln MKX weaving between lanes on Hill Road then jumping a curb near Moo Moo Car Wash. She initially denied drinking but later admitted to having “one vodka Redbull.” At the station, she registered a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.201. The legal limit in Ohio is 0.08.
