MILLERSBURG, OH – Women of all experience levels are invited to step outside and experience the thrill of the outdoors at the 25th annual WITO Ohio three-day event from September 12th to the 14th at Skyview Ranch in Millersburg, Ohio. Hosted by the NWTF Ohio State WITO Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, this year’s event is Renaissance themed, offering a weekend of hands-on activities, skill-building and community in a welcoming, safe environment.
Participants can choose from over 40 classes offered during the three-day event, ranging from standard shooting courses to wellness classes and much more under the guidance of experienced instructors. No prior experience is necessary — just a willingness to learn and have fun!
“We’ve hosted this event for 25 years, and I’ve been involved every year for the past twelve,” said Amy Rohrbaugh, WITO event coordinator. “We are the family reunion you didn’t know you needed, allowing for women to build friendships that last a lifetime. People come to try new things and build community with support.”
Registration costs $250.00 and includes meals, lodging, attending five courses, raffles and a one-year subscription to NWTF Turkey Call magazine. Pre-registration is required by Sept. 9. Mothers, daughters, sisters and friends are all encouraged to sign up and share in the experiences.
The NWTF’s Women in the Outdoors program was created to provide women with the skills, confidence and community to enjoy outdoor adventures. Over the past decade, female participation in hunting, shooting sports and fishing has grown rapidly, with women now making up more than a quarter of all anglers and representing the fastest-growing segment in hunting and shooting sports. NWTF is proud to be at the forefront of this movement, ensuring that more women have the resources and opportunities to explore the outdoors.
Local and state NWTF chapters host thousands of similar events nationwide each year through its Education and Outreach programs, helping women gain confidence in outdoor activities and fostering a deeper appreciation for conservation. The demand for such activities among women has been increasing, and the NWTF has been at the forefront of engaging and being a resource for this growing segment of hunters.
