A new 150-foot cell tower erected behind the Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church on Old Diley Road should be operational soon, although an exact date has not been announced.

Representatives from AT&T say customers will find their mobile signals “much improved.”

“This tower is owned by a third party and will host equipment for our newest cell site in Pickerington, which is part of our ongoing investment to improve wireless service for our customers,” a company spokesman said. “We expect this site to be operational later this year and look forward to providing residents and first responders with faster, more reliable service.”

Other mobile service providers are expected to rent space on the tower, although at press time no additional companies had been confirmed.
